So disappointed in Nissan. New owner of 2019 Murano. Carpet soaking wet under driver's side under legs. Water soaked carpet under Weathertech floor mats 2x/this week Afraid mold and carpet rot will be forthcoming. HOW TO FIX? It's due to rain as I haven't used the AC. Ran thru car wash 2x/row, paper toweled around entire sun roof, floor, and in drivers door. Coming in from above front left foot rest and puddles at bottom of wheel well. Soaking wet.

Could it be the windshield leaking? Suspect its the drainage hole/tube as I've seen some posts. Poured a cup of water into the front 2 drainage tubes, left drivers side definitely slower than right side which returned nearly the whole cup. If it is this, how do I keep it clear? Are there any home remedies so this doesn't become a problem again?

Before I go to dealer, trying to figure out if anyone else had similar water leak issue with Murano 2019 and what it was. Don't trust dealer - will dealer honor warranty, try to push off as something smaller if its actually the sunroof? Please hurry, more rain on the way as it's spring and I'm feeling like a sucker for a lemon car.

Your recourse is the dealer. Not sure why you don't trust them, unless you have some history with them.

You seem to have a pretty good diagnosis that you can share with them, and chances are this isn't the first time they have seen this.

Go there, give them a shot at making it right. Evaluate their work. Go back if necessary...not every leak is fixed on the first try.

When I read posts like this I always wonder why anyone would buy a car from a dealer they didn't trust, and what prompted the non-trust issues? I think today, most dealer's service departments are on the up and up. They get graded constantly, and with all the social media, they can't afford to be screwing the customers. My dealer does great work, and has helped me numerous times over the years that I have purchased cars from them. I bought my first Nissan in 2005, and have only had my services done at the dealer. They are great people to deal with, and contrary to popular opinion, their prices are in line with the independent garages, who I do not trust.

I have a 2017.5 Murano with the same problem! I could never replicate the condition enough to go to the dealership. Unfortunately (or fortunately I guess...) on mine it has only happened two times in the 3+ years I've owned it. Both times it occurred during very heavy rain. First time was a couple of years ago. Last night is the second time it has happened. I am the original owner, and would like to know if you got this resolved. Or if you at least discovered the cause of the problem.

There are a bunch of threads on sunroof drainage leaks. That is the likely culprit. Depending on where you live and god only knows what else you may or may not have a problem, or only notice it after very heavy rain. I've heavily commented in those other threads regarding my 2016. I gave up and traded it... If you are under manufactures warranty don't give up. Keep taking it in and demonstrating the leak. Take the tech or shop manager to a carwash you know will result in the leak. Their water testing may just be a hose that's not enough to reproduce the problem. If you get no resolution, contact Nissan then contact an attorney who specializes in lemon law and Magnuson-Moss warranty act.

I have a 2016 Nissan Murano SL that started leaking on the drivers side this past week. I came across the video linked below in hopes that it will address the issue (although it's for a Nissan Rogue but the problem may be the same for other late model Nissan SUVs)

Do you drive with the sunroof slightly open when it rains? When it's closed.. Wondering how rain would be able to get in since it's sealed... or should be.

I never drive with the sunroof open or cracked when it rains. Water probably settles on the roof and then seeps into the channels of the sunroof trim.

I took the cowel out and in the murano 2017, I see a hole which I presume the water comes out, but that hole was dry, noticed water on the floor and also water coming out of the passenger pillar. So How do you clean from the top.

The Murano doesn't have that plastic which needs to be broken.

I'd try fishing something like weed trimmer line up that hole to see what it can clear out. It also should show you where it terminates in the moonroof area. It's also possible the hose may have become disconnected from the moonroof...

I finally removed the Pillar(easy by hand only clips) then took the cap off the sun visor( not very easy to remove the cap) then 2 screws 7mm, Noticed the hose was never hooked to the drain. Then removed the top handle to get better access to insert the hose into the drain nipple. Tested the drain and was draining well. Checked for any leaks and everything was OK.

Checked the driver side, Pillar and sun visor( I cracked the cap cause it was hard remove) then I was able to verify that the hose was very well inserted into the drain nipple.
When the sun roof leaks with the size(1/2" ID hose) very hard to clog up, It is more due to the hose not being well inserted into the drain nipple. If parked outside, clean the outside sun roof gutter for leaves and so on once a year.

I am looking to do the same as you on a 2017 murano with the panorama sunroof. I think the hose on the driver’s side has fallen off as water is coming down the a-pillar.
From what I can read from your post is it correct that you had to pull off the A trim and then loosen part of the roof trim to get to the drain hose?
Did you pull the door seal rubber off to get the a trim off? I don’t suppose you took any photos??
