So seems most other models came with the ability to update maps using DVD's while the 2010 (and perhaps 2009) versions can only be updated by purchasing a code and having the dealer install. Problem is, my dealer wants $125 to install the map update (which only costs $99 through June 30th, 2014).

Has anyone had luck updating the maps for less, or a non-Nissan Dealer?

I'd like to update the maps, but perhaps not at the cost of $250.

Thanks

Unfortunately only the dealer can do the update on the 09 and 10. I paid the dealer 100 + tax but paid Navteq 149 to get the code so total about the same 250.

Sadly, another part of the Nissan business plan...make things available only from Nissan so they can hold you up!

My first...and last Nissan. Love the car, hate the company policies.

Called 3 area dealers, no one would budge on the install price. I am a one to one customer, go to the dealer for just about everything...but refuse to pay $250 for a map update. Are there some areas that could be more convenient with the new maps - sure, $250 convenient...no way.

Total bummer. I'd like the new maps, just not at that price point.

That's about the going rate for BMW's nav updates, too.
