There is no way the pricing would drop $3,000. Since when has a auto manufacturer lowered the prices on any car? If Nissan was going to do this it would be plastered all over the press and website.
The Nissannews.com webiste has the following info on a few other Nissan models:
GARDENA, Calif. (October 8, 2004) – Nissan North America, Inc., today announced an interim price increase on select 2004/2005 models. The new prices, which are effective immediately, have been increased $100 on all trim levels of the 2005 Sentra and 2005 350Z Roadster (except the Roadster Grand Touring, which goes on sale in January), and $200 on all trim levels of the 2004 Xterra. A new 2005 Xterra is scheduled to go on sale in early 2005.
