Back from a vacation trip in the Murano. Went from San Antonio to Tucson, Phoenix, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, back to SA via Sedona and Tucson. About 2500 miles total. Average speed for the main travel days was over 75 MPH.

At times we were running 85+ MPH, up 6% grades, at 8000 ft with outside temp reading of 95 degrees. At the same time. Other times we ran 85+ MPH over 5 - 6% grades at 4000 ft with outside temp reading of 115. The Murano never had a problem.

Ran regular (87 octane) and got an average of 18.9 MPG
overall for the trip.

I don't know what conditions would cause the "CVT overheat/power reduction" to occur, but I know I don't want to be in those conditions!

Good to see you had good luck. I wonder if it is something to do with air-cooling of the trans. It seems that others that have posted about problems like that have been in traffic.
