Power train (Engine, transmission, differntial, etc.) is warranteed for 60,000 miles or 5 years. Just go to dealer and have them fix it free!

The factory power & drive train warranty is 6/60K miles no? And it's not likely he really means the front diff, as that's actually part of the CVT transmission, he probably means the transfer case which have been know to have issues.

Bring it in and have it repaired under warranty.

Just to be clear, bring it in to the DEALER and have it repaired under warranty, especially since it doesn't sound like your mechanic is being completely honest with you.
