My dealer told me there was no Valet key when I bought my 04. Where they lying to me? Did you get one?Fstrnu said:I have two of the Hamburger style keyrings. They gave them to me when we bought our Murano.![]()
They are kind of useless though. Both main sets are used with Key fobs. Use one of the hamburger style with the Valet Key.
Assuming you bought your Murano new, you should have received 3 keys from your dealer.zebelkhan said:

Thanks. When I bought my car it only had one key. They had lost the other one as the dealership was going thru construction at that time. They made a second key for me (and a fob) when I picked up the car but when I asked them about the Valet key they said because of the transponder, these Muranos do not come with one!MVTCFP said:Assuming you bought your Murano new, you should have received 3 keys from your dealer.
2 black full service keys and 1 red valet key.
I would insist on getting all the keys you were supposed to get.
Odds are your dealer lost the valet key.
Have the dealer make you another key so you have 3.
For free.
If you have to buy one they cost around $50 for the transponder blank and programming. :runaway:
Talk about an in-your-face outright lie.zebelkhan said:

That's the difference. If you notice, the valet key is a tad shorter. I had a Maxima, and the valet key would not open the trunk either. But with only one keyhole on the MO.....Gonzo said:Correct me if I'm wrong.... is the only difference between the vallet key and the normal key is that the vallet key will not unlock the glove box or center console?
Just recently purchased a '04 and it had a valet key.zebelkhan said:
