From the foreword section of the Owner's Manual:

Your new NISSAN is the result of our dedication to
produce the finest in safe, reliable and economical
transportation. Your vehicle is the product of a
successful worldwide company that manufactures
the facilities include the Nissan Manufacturing
facility in Smyrna, Tennessee, vehicle styling design
at Nissan Design America in San Diego,
California, and engineering at Nissan Technical.

From the time the parts arrived from our suppliers
until you took delivery of your new Nissan, dozens
of checks were made to ensure that only the best
job was being done in producing and delivering
your vehicle. NISSAN also takes great care to
ensure that when you take your NISSAN to your
dealer for maintenance, the service technician will
perform his work according to the quality standards
that have been established by the factory.

Fugi had too much Saki when he put my doors together, he must have missed something, lol.

It is actually cheaper to produce that page in the manual than to actually do that stuff.

Besides, the Murano has now achieved the quality level of a Renault, the parent company.

Interesting quote on Nissan build quality from the American factories:

http://www.detnews.com/2004/autosinsider/0405/12/a01-150861.htm

"Dealers say they are seeing steady improvements in the ride, handling and interior fit and finish of models delivered to their showrooms."

Of course this may have nothing at all to do with the Japanese built Mo, and could just be more dealer BS, but I thought it was interesting.

Just for the record, in addition to my '03 MO, I also drive a 1969 Renault 16 with approximately 440,000 miles on it.

Just for the record, I owned a 1963 Renault Dauphine.

The following story, despite sounding like an urban legend is a true story and it was ME, not a friend of a friend, etc.

I got a speeding ticket going from Atlantic Highlands to Highlands NJ in the summer of 1969.
I was driving my Trusty steed (said with dripping sarcasm) the 1963 Renault Dauphine. It had 23,000 miles on it. It would have had more except that a car has to run to be able to accumulate mileage.
Anyway, I have no idea why I got the ticket.I was not speeding.
So i decided, even tho it is almost always a waste of time, to fight the ticket.
When It came My turn I declared Not Guilty and went on to explain to the Judge That I couldn't have been speeding UP a hill in a 65MPH zone because................I Owned a Renault Dauphine and they couldn't speed up hill. In reality they lose speed going up hill, no matter what you do.
The Cop then patiently explained that he had clocked me at 78MPH.

The judge gave it some thought, then struck the gavel
and said.
"I also own a Renault Dauphine and I know that it cannot speed on that hill. At least not UP that hill! And I seriously doubt that it could do 78 MPH under any conditions.
Not Guilty!
Next case, please........"

And that is absolutely the truth.
What a POS car that was.

HMMM. POS! That is exactly how my son's family refers to the 16.
But it will go anywhere. Brand new engine, new interior, and not a drop of rust anywhere on the ORIGINAL paint.
Sorry - we don't have a Renault forum, and Homer opened the door!
