Hi Folks. I have a 2015 Murano Platinum I just purchased a month or so ago. The wife and I are taking a small vacation trip this weekend and I need my roof bag for the light stuff on my roof. Blankets, pillows etc etc. Its frustrating that these racks are being redesigned and/or eliminated. (I may end up fabricating with my welding friend a set when I get back) but for now this should work just fine.
Rubber matting goes across roof first (Anti-slip mat)
3/4" galvanized strap
3/8 rubber hose
6mm by 1 1/2" bolts

I have a picture of my old Jeep with bag up on it. (I'll take a picture once I'm loaded up)

Why don't you use a Thule cross bar and a box or tray on top? The only offset would be the cost but the box/tray is an investment for the future which can be passed on from vehicle to vehicle. Personally, I don't like the idea of anything sitting directly on my roof.

How did you remove the bolts from the cut out areas? They will not budge for me

Correct Torx head on a socket wrench.

Interesting - there are three nearly identical threads by different people asking the same question.

TORX is the term. It describes the specific design needed. Other tools do not work.
