I hit 36,050 miles with NO extended warranty because i thought, Hey, its a Nissan, it will last..... WRONG how can the Peddal Position Sensor go out at 50 miles after the warranty expires? Can something like that be programed maliciously?
Well anyway i called Nissan and the regional manager is going to call me back today to see if they can do anything for me with this. hopefully they will cover it. Thats an unexpected $300.

Is it technically possible to program the Pedal Position Sensor to "fail" at 36,050? Yes.

Is it possible that Nissan programmed the sensor to fail at 36,050 miles? Absolutely not.

With any luck the dealer will replace the part under warranty. From what I have seen and heard, many dealers will allow a "buffer" of a few hundred miles.
