Prepping for Service

I don't know about the rest of the MO owners here, and I may be a bit paranoid based on my behavior, but before I take my car in for any type of dealer service, I empty out coins, remove my radar detector, empty the CD player, etc.

I once had an old cowboy hat stolen from the back of a car I had in for service years back, so I assume that anything that's not nailed down is fair game.

Well, first of all, if you lost somethin' in the car during a service

will it be possible to track down who steals and you can bring it up the the service manager or even the dealer manager or somethin'?

I took out my GPs nav (pda based) and my xm radio (portable).
Also coins and some other personal stuffs like: polaroid camera (oh yes i always have it in my car for dicumentation when -God forbid- accidents happen), sun glasses (mine and gfs'), cds, power inverter, laptop charger, cellphone charger, etc .

I also take digital picture of the odometer (milage). I had a friends whose car is being driven 200 miles when he left it for some minor service overnight.

I always lock all storage bins.
And i only give the serv manager my vallet key.
