I have my new Murano for 3 months, and it only has 1300 miles on it. Should i go for my first oil change now or change it by 3750 miles. I am asking because the book says that either 3 months or 3750 miles.

Also,, should i change my transmission oil too?? My friends told me that i should change it early for the first time...

thanks for advise..

You should change your oil. You should go by either 3 months or 3750 miles, which ever comes first. After 3 months, your oil has started to accumulate moisture, which reacts with the oil to produce acids, which are bad for your engine.

The service interval for the transmission fluid is 60,000 miles.

While some people believe that first fluid changes should be done a.s.a.p., that was due to metal filings etc. being left in the engine and transmission during manufacturing. Surely auto manufacturers have better methods for cleaning before assembly than 20 or 30 years ago?

As a note, I was quoted about $200 (U.S.) for a CVT fluid change.
Has anyone here changed their transmission fluid yet? (Other than those who needed a new transmission for whatever reason)
