1. 1985 Renault 9 - worst car ever, I learned how to drive in it though so that's always special! There was always something wrong with it.
2. 1996 Ford Escort - horrible car, slightly quicker than walking, quite comfortable
3. 1997 Mitsubishi Colt - my first Japanese car, I loved this one, nothing ever went wrong with it, drove it through waist-high floods and it just kept going
4. 1994 Honda Prelude Si VTEC - I loved this one too, such a comfortable car yet loud and fast when it needed to be! It had over 300,000km on it when I sold it but felt as strong as the day it was born
5. 1999 Honda Civic EK9 Type R (JDM) - manic fun, incredible car, totally reliable, it was on a mission to bankrupt me because all I wanted to do was mod it and make it faster and louder
6. 1999 Honda Integra Type R (UKDM) - similar to the EK9 but a better looking car and as above, spent thousands on it
7. 2004 Nissan X-Trail dCi Sport 4wd - time for me to grow up, needed the space for various things, not a bad car though, just very boring. Excellent in snow and ice.
8. 2007 Nissan Murano (there's only one type here, 3.5 V6 AWD with everything) - love it, only thing that will separate us will be fuel prices :-\

3. 2002 Honda Civic LX Coupe - First new car.
4. 1985 Celica GTS - 5 speed RWD, leather, sunroof... thing was sweet.
5. 1997 Infiniti I30 - my first Nissan
6. 1998 Infiniti QX4 - thing had the 3.3L V6 which was a dog, but this was my first SUV and I enjoyed it anyway.
7. 2002 Infiniti I35 Sport - loved this car, fully loaded
8. 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser - just traded this in for the Murano

Over the years after turning 18, I owned a variety of cars, all totally different from each other. These are their stories.

My very first car was a 1984 Plymouth Reliant K when I first went to college. Helped me get around. It came to a bad two years later. (Expensive engine problems). Learned to take the bus and train after that.

My second car a few years later was a 1986 Nissan 200SX my parents won for me at a car auction in the Bronx. I loved that car. It had a moon roof, it was stick, it had rear wheel drive, and it looked sharp. No air conditioning though. Drove the heck out of it and had it for several years. Had to get rid of it finally as the body started rusting in a bad way to the point where it was unsafe.

Third car was a 1988 Mercury Sable my best friend's dad gave to me. My friend called it Desdamona as she frequently wanted to choke it for all the problems it gave her. I continued calling it Desdemona as it seemed a tragic and totally misunderstood vehicle. Anyways, she served me well for three years though several rather expensive components failed during that period. When her head gasket blew, one summer, I knew this was the end.

My third car was literally my father's Oldsmobile. I hated that car, never bothered to learn what year it was. I only took it because I needed wheels and I had no cash. I endured that car (and the snickers from my friends) for years. It would refuse to start after being previously driven, and would stay that way for hours, stranding me in all sorts of places. It never read the fuel level properly so I would never know when it was near empty. The driver then passenger side power windows would freeze half way down forcing me to get the motors repaired (not cheap). Three days after moving from contractor to permanent employee at my job, I drove it over to the local Nissan dealership and fell in love with a 2000 Nissan Altima SE that just came off lease. The guy offered $100.00 for the Olds and I quickly said "Done." (I would have given him money to take it by that point.)

I then had my 2000 Altima SE. It was awesome. It was a standard, had a power moon roof, had a CD drive, and cassette deck. It had a bunch of cool features I until then had only dreamed about. Within a few years, I went from 10K miles to 130K miles. I drove it cross country from New York to California, it bravely struggled up over the Colorado Rockies, it took me to Meteor crater in Arizona, and to Florida a bunch of times. Life was good. To all things there must be an end though. The Altima was now seven years old, lots of miles on her, and quite a few of her components were failing and needed replacement. Reluctantly I decided it was time to trade her in.

I was looking for a replacement for my Altima when I spotted a bunch of Saturns, including a Vue at a fair in the summer of 2007. Something about it caught my eye and a week later I was driving off a dealer lot with a 2007 FWD storm Grey Vue. (The last of the cool looking ones before that new (and in my opinion) ugly models. Though I missed my Altima terribly (including the moon roof), the Vue quickly wormed its way into my affections. Like many of my other cars I drove this one everywhere and by late 2011 the odometer had gone from 23 miles to 123000 miles. After being presented with an estimate of over $1000.00 in repairs (wear and tear). I realized it was time to make another change.

That replacement vehicle is my current 2012 Merlot Murano SV. I now have had it for 9 days and I find it to be a great vehicle. This time around, I intend to baby it and try to keep the mileage down. I am all driven out anyway.

Picking up my very first Nissan tomorrow, a beautiful Pearl White 2014 Murano SL!!! I had 3 potential buyers for my existing vehicle but none bit the bullet so I'm trading it in. As you can see below, I drove a variety of vehicles in the past 40+ years. I didn't keep them very long and I hope I will keep this one at least for 5 years as it gets costly to trade in every 2-3 years! Also the Murano is the nicest vehicle I ever had, way more features than my 1999 Lexus RX300 base model!
