hi there

this is officially my first posting :)

anyways,

the problem is this :

We have a 2004 Murano and the right rear passenger door handle will not allow the passenger to get out from the inside...

the lever flips when you activate the " unlock " button on the key fob.. but the person cannot let themselves out... the door can only be opened from outside ..

I watched the lever on the inside of the door and it DOES move as you lock and unlock with the key fob ...

but something isnt allowing the inside handle to open the door

any thoughts ?

thanks

Kevin

It is probably the "child safety" thing. Open the door and look at the edge of the door about half way up and you will see a slider switch. Just push it to unlock position and lock will start to work again.

Glad you fixed it!

I had similar problem on my brand new Mo (2005 European model). I too thought it was the child lock switch but I couldnt fix it. Nissan repaired it under warranty. Apparently they have some quality control problem here. Their replacement unit failed and needed a second part. All is well now.

That is unfortunately true. Love the car but I am not too fond of its makers or those who service it....
