I have about 130k miles and lately, I've noticed when I'm going 65-70 mph, particularly uphill, the RPM fluctuates between 2750/3000. I first noticed this while using cruise control but the issue also occurs when driving normally. Obviously the engine is working harder to maintain speed while going uphill, but almost seems like it doesn't want to go past 3k RPM, so the needle "wiggles" just below 3k RPM. You can also feel the car bounce a little whenever this happens. Has anyone encountered this before or know of a possible fix?

Has the CVT service been maintained? Fluid should have been changed twice by now, every 60K.

First I would have CVT checked for codes and schedule a CVT filter and fluid change. A power flush will cause more issues then a simple pan drop to replace the filter and properly clean sludge from the bottom of the pan.

You can download CVTz50 for Android to check for any CVT codes.

Have a good day.
