Purchased a new 06 Mo this month. Nearest Nissan dealership not being very nearby, was wondering how most owners have their Mo serviced. All servicing done with dealerships, or only major servicing there, and other done by local shop?

I do all of the scheduled maintenance myself. So far that amounts to two oil changes and a tire rotation. I'll be changing the cabin air filter next week. Obviously, all warranty work is performed by the dealer.

Other than perhaps the CVT transmission, there are no special service items on the Murano. So any shop can do it.

Consider also that the CVT actually has no specified service interval under normal conditions. Under severe conditions, I think Nissan recommends changing the $20/quart fluid every 60,000 miles.

You might consider ....

Getting a low cost device to read out the fault codes yourself that will make you knowledgable about things when and if the Service light comes on.
