This clip from the below link says it all

http://www.visteon.com/newsroom/press/2004/030904a.shtml

DEARBORN, Mich., March 9, 2004 -Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) has won a contract to supply satellite radio systems for a variety of future Nissan Motor Co. models for both the Nissan and Infiniti divisions in North America. .The system will accommodate either XM Radio or SIRIUS Satellite Radio

In other words, there will be ONE unit that can be used for BOTH Sirius and XM so you won't have to decide on a service before getting the hardware. This should let you switch services without getting a new receiver.

I think this is big news for satellite fans!

More info on single XM/Sirius receiver

This link has some great information on Visteon's single satellite reciever.

http://www.visteon.com/technology/automotive/satellite_radio.shtml

I'd love to hear more details on this because I was going to put satellite in my Mo, but I'd rather wait for this unit.

I'd like to know things like:

Will it work with existing satellite wiring harness?
Will this receiver be compatable with '03 & '04 stereo's?
Will it be in 2005 Murano's (or will it just come out sometime in 2005 calendar year)?

Homer is correct - Visteon was one of the main suppliers for Ford (they still may be). *shivers*

My understanding, Ford Visteon was spun off into it's own entity. So you've got a Ford division spun off running under the name of Visteon.

Clarion, used to be majority owned by Nissan, so there's some interesting politics going on there.

Will they be compatible? Good question. Who owns the interface, Nissan or Clarion. The head unit is Clarion....
