Here is a list of tire widths/profiles and rim sizes that may help you when shopping for tires. Anything wider that 275 will probably rub.

Each manufacture will have a different outer diameter for the same width/profile/rim size combination. The OEM tire outer diameter is 30", your replacement tire should be as close as possible to this size.

WG - I notice your table doesn't have 265/60/18's?

FYI - There are a few of us that run this size with no rubbing issues.

KSmurano, Thanks for pointing that out!

I've updated the table with every size/rim combination that falls within 3% variance of the OEM tire.

Good chart. I'm making this a sticky.

Thanks for keeping within 3% of OEM. Hopefully this will help MO owners avoid sizes too large or too small.

Hi WG,
Just for info: in Germany the following tyres are also homologated:
235/55R19
255/50R19
265/50R19
275/45R19
275/50R19

Alex,

Thanks for your contribution, I've added 235/55R19 and 265/50R19 to the table.

255/50R19 tire size is -3.31% smaller than the spec and 275/45R19 is 4.37% smaller than spec. Since the table only includes tires that are within 3% of the OEM tire diameter I have left these out.

Thanks,

WG

I saw that tire rack shows a 265/50/20 for the MO. Has anyone tried a 275/45/20? There is a slight difference... I think it would look better. Anyone, anyone..?:D
Jast installed them, a bit rough driving. What is optimal pressure for that size? I have 40psi now, what would be ok for them?

LeoMurano-

There is no right answer to your question. The optimum air pressure has a lot to do with the tire construction, as well as the size, so it can vary between tire manufacturers.

You need to find a compromise between handling and comfort. Play around with various pressures until you find the right combination, Just do not exceed the maximum pressure imprinted on the sidewall.

Also, don't forget to post pics of the new rubber. We like to see how it looks.

I suggest going one size larger (285/50-20), as I have done. It is a "guaranteed fitment", according to Discount Tire Direct (even a 295/45-20 should work fine with no clearance or rubbing problems, as long as you select the correct wheel offset and rim width).

The Yokohama Parada Spec-X that I selected for my 2009 Murano LE are fabulous tires, so-far!

245/45-20 on 2003 Murano

This size should work fine on a 20 x 8.5 to 20 x 9.5 rim on that vehicle. If you want to be sure, just call the Tech Service line at Discount Tire Direct (or Tire Rack, although I find DTD to be more helpful and far less arrogant).
