I have been wondering if I should cover the dash with a Burlwood type material.
Does anyone have experience with this?
The Metal that covers everything now is soft......

It's one of those things, where, if you do a good job, it would look good on the Latte interior. But it's really easy to do a bad job.

When I first got my Mo I entertained the thought strongly.
Most of the kits were plastic wood pictures, not the real thing. I did find real wood but was looking at spending up to $400 for something I wasn't quite sure I would keep. However, I did see a real wood set on ebay lately that was looking really good...I think it would look good--but it would scratch as easy as the aluminum would and I think would require more delicate upkeep than the metal.
My private jury is still out on this one....

My personal opinion is to not do it. Most of those kits just dont appeal to me. I prefer carbon fiber or aluminum. Also, a lot of the kits arent perfect in terms of fitment and I really would not like to see the aluminum around the edges.

I would not do it. Neither to the MO nor to the FX. It just does look good on these cars....

Just my 2c...........others may disagree...

My opinion would also be not to. I've actually been thinking about seeing if there is an aluminum trim for my Maxima to update its look. The wood on it (which was a nice job) looks dated on it now.

Thank you for providing a fine example of a bad job.

The colour's wrong for the latte and it's gross overkill.

Often the case, when blindly following the "More is better" theme.

Heh heh heh... All I can think of is "Pimp my ride"

Thanks all, That pic looked like something from "pimp" my ride.
That was overkill. I guess I am peeved because I dented the lid over cup holders already.

Hmmmmmmmmm

Yeah, I've got a few small ones in the steering wheel. Too bad they went with brushed aluminum foil instead of sheet metal...

So the new 2005 latte interior has fake wood. If they don't change it too much, you could buy those parts and you're set with OEM fake wood.

I think less is better.

lthough I would prefer a lighter wood, I would still.......

do the console.
do the doors.

would not do the Dash or the command center

and would shoot anybody who tried to do the steering wheel.

anybody find a pix of the '05 treatment yet?

I have mixed emotion re. Wood. Had a lot of MB's in my day and their wood is great, I HAD A G35 AND DID THE LIGHT WOOD KIT ON IT AND LIKED IT. I'vei seen some MO's pics of wood that look BAD. When the factory WOOD KIT COMES OUT SHORTLY I THINK WE MAY SEE A RESURGENCE IN THE "ACCEPTANCE" OF WOOD.

uh OH CAPS LOCK ON, Oh well I will fix it later. I have the Charcoal leather and Platinum exterior so the Brushed Aluminum is kind of nice for me. The light interior can look great with the right wood trim.

By the way I worked in Detroit and lived in Birmingham for a lot of years, where are you?

Livonia. You recall where that is?
Great town.
Birmingham is very nice these days. I think a few Redwings live there as well as 2 Det tigers.
