Despite the Mo being about to enter its third model year, it still seems to attract a lot of attention.

Yesterday I had just driven to Blockbuster to drop off a DVD. About to leave when a Ford Expedition pulls up a short distance from me, driver jumps out and rushes over to me leaving his door wide open.
Asks many questions. Seems his wife likes the MO and he is planning to make her happy! Final request was to get in the back to check out the room and was amazed since he figured more space than his Expedition. Was almost back at his car when he turned, came back and asked about MPG. I was only to happy to press the button since I am in the range of 22-23.5 (US) right now. To say he was bowled over is an understatement.

Today took some visitors from the Prairies (Winnipeg, Manitoba) to see some Atlantic Ocean views. Took the fast inland route to Bridgewater, then cut south to the LeHave Ferry. This is a cable ferry which takes about 7 mins to make the crossing. I arrived just after it had pulled away from the ramp. As I was suggesting to my passengers that we walk around the village for a while and take the next ferry in 30mins, noted he had stopped and was heading back to the dock! 45 seconds later the ramp is lowered and I drive on. Park, pay the $4 fare , then spend the entire trip answering questions about the MO to one of the crew. At the end he suggested we walk off and leave the MO for him!

OK, The Expedition story is old hat.

But the Ferry story is a winner!

I wonder what Expedition drivers would think if I told them my consistent mileage in the city is around 15mpg, and to get 23-24 you need to drive 65mph or lower!

I own a 2003 Expedition and the wife drives the 2004 Murano SL. Yes the Murano does get better mileage (no road trips with the Mo yet) we still prefer the Expy on the open road. There is a lot more room for luggage and stretching out in the Expy especially when you have to carry the necessities for a 1 year old.

But don't get me wrong, I love to drive the Mo every chance I get since I traded in my 02 Maxima for it. Now to only convince the wife to let me have my Mo back

Do what I did after my Murano was hijacked by my wife (at that time she “loved” her 2 door Sebring coupe) – I got her FX………………;)
