A long shot, but check to make sure your emergency brake cable is not hitting your axle shaft when released.

I would think everything should be checked underneath, to make sure it's all tight.

It's hard without being there, but even a loose part on the exhaust might be the culprit. Sometimes hard acceleration with change that kind of thing, as the engine twists against the mounts and changes the geometry to the exhaust.

To add to the excellent suggestions above, might be a loose heat shield.

Its probably not the best idea to wear headphones while driving! You won't be able to hear the other noises around you, which might be necessary to be completely aware of your surroundings.

I believe it is also illegal in many states to wear headphones while driving - but at least you can't hear anything.

While you are driving use your left foot to play with the imergency brake pedal, maybe even apply it just a tad to see if the noise goes away or gets worst.
