Just got a call from a local shop where my Waag's front and rear runners were shipped to. Well, how do I start? The guy( brother of mine)who runs the shop didn't sound very enthusiastic?!!!
This is what he had to say, "These were made by someone with two left hands". I am going for install on this Wednesday, therefore I am just dying to see them(Waag products). After month of waiting and $ 535.38 it is going to be a major disappointment...
Has anyone installed them yet?

Manufacturer's pictures are here:

I wrote to WAAG regarding the installation of these items and they told me that you have to cut away some of the front bumper to install the grill guard. They said the part cut-off was under the bumper and not visible from normal viewing angles. They said the rear unit is bolt-on with no mods to the rear bumper, though.

Let us know how it goes. Take pix if you can. Hope it all works out!

Hey, it wasn't that bad!

This is how they came: in two big boxes.

Now that you have them installed, do you think these guards offer any protection or are they cosmetic?
i.e. if you got tapped in the rear guard would it protect the bumper or just crumple.

The idea was to protect bumpers while parking. I do not think these guards will hold well at the speeds higher than 5-10 MPH.
I'd rather have damaged bumpers and guards than frame.
This a good solution for those who live/work/park in large metro areas.

I would hope they would not protect at higher speeds (well, at least the front set). Otherwise the airbag system would not work properly. The Nissan version, likewise, does not interfere with the airbag system.

Nice report. Thank you for the photos. I think we would all like to see some long shots of the finished product, too, so we can get the full effect!
