I have noticed that on occasion, I have water dripping from the right side (passenger side) of the muffler at the bottom where the side plate is welded to the body of the muffler. This water is coming from the inside of the muffler and a rust spot has formed where the wate is dripping from.
Has anyone else noticed this? And what is causing this?
Most likely normal condensation from moisture that gets in the pipes. All cars do this. Unless you have a stainless steel exhaust its gonna rust over time. What we have is just aluminized steel I believe, the standard for stock automobiles.
My Saturn SL2 in 1994 came with a stainless steel exhaust standard and in the 10 years i owned that car in Wisconsin, I never repaired/ replaced the exhaust.

Nahhh, admit it: most of us love the murano so much we will have the next all new murano to replace the one we have now long before the current Mo's tail pipes are rusted :2:
I read somewhere, I forget which forum, but a guy put a 350Z exhaust on his Murano. It took a little customizing, but he got it to work. If thats the true case, then you could do it in SS as well.

If water (condensation) is dripping from the muffler it means you already have a hole in the muffler...perhaps a bad weld at the side plate....keep an eye on it to see if it gets any bigger....if water comes out, exhaust fumes can escape as well....
