Hello everyone! New to the Murano family. Purchased a 2019 Murano SV w/Platinum Package (had a great experience at the dealership until a little false information was revealed after paperwork was signed and getting ready to leave, but that was partially my own fault for taking their word...which to be fair was based on info they were falsely told by the dealership they got the vehicle from while searching for what I wanted and they didn’t have). Previously owned a Rogue Select, 2017 Rogue S, and 2018 Rogue SV w/Platinum Package.

So far I’m loving my Murano with the exception of not having the built-in Navigation that I was very specific about wanting (didn’t want to rely solely on Apple CarPlay for my navigation needs and only realized small things were missing from this unit like HD radio and SiriusXM TravelLink. Not major deals). My research wasn’t detailed enough to know that for some reason the Navigation headunit is only offered on the SL and Platinum trims (doesn’t help that some dealerships were incorrectly or misleading when they posted “Navigation and GPS” as features in some of their SV listings without saying it was only through CarPlay or Android Auto). Missing the motion lift gate that I had on my 2018 Rogue also but that was completely my fault for assuming the SV model would have it and not listing it as one of my requirements. Right now I’m just trying to decide if it’s worth it to get the Navigation unit installed if it’s even possible. I know it’s a little nitpicking but it’s annoying me not having that head unit.

Anyway...that’s what brought me to this forum. My search to figure out if it’s possible to get the Nissan Navigation headunit intended for SL and Platinum installed in my SV without losing any features as well as having a place to learn more about my car from actual owners.

Are you sure you don't have the built-in Nissan navigation? Does your head unit have a Map button to the left of the display? The brochure says all models include voice recognition for audio and navigation. I can find no reference to navigation being an extra option for SL and Platinum...

HD radio and SiriusXM are also shown as being standard for all trims... Do you have a shark fin antenna on the rear roof?

I looked a little more, and it does appear only the SL and Platinum have built-in navigation, they call it "nissan door to door navigation with premium traffic" in the brochure. I think the mention of voice recognition for audio and navigation in the brochure pertains to using voice for controlling Android Auto and Apple CarPlay...

Just seeing your posts. Unfortunately for some reason the SV even with the premium package don’t have the built-in navigation but they try to convince you that using maps with CarPlay is better (subjective). Yes I can use maps via CarPlay but I don’t care for it (which is why I never used it in my previous Rogues with CarPlay functionality). Funny thing is that some dealerships seem to not be aware of this exclusion. One dealer told me it wasn’t supposed to be that way but Nissan was trying to get away from the built in navigation unit and wants to go to CarPlay/Android Auto so they are only putting the remaining stock of head units in SL and Platinum trims. Not sure how true that is since I haven’t been able to find anything on that. And I guess only the navigation units can have HD radio.

Hi all, I've been lurking on this site ever since I bought my 2018 Murano in May. Now that I'm starting to see more info on the 3rd generation concerning service/maintenance, I thought it was a good time to register.

I bought ours from a rental company car sales division. It had about 18K miles and was in excellent condition. It's a magnetic black SL with the cashmere interior. The first week I had it, I had to make a 500 mile trip. I got 33 MPG and had an extremely comfortable drive. Needless to say, I was very happy. I haven't made any more drives of that length, so I'm generally getting about 30-31 Hwy and about 24 City. I'm not complaining, as my previous drive got about 20 MPG at best.

These are great vehicles. It's a shame they're not better known in the driving public.

Greetings All. I've been lurking/reading these forums for the past few weeks and joined yesterday.

I purchased a used 2016 Murano SL with 22k just before Christmas (roof rack, Bose and all around camera package). 'Metallic Java' exterior and cream leather interior with some 'pearl'-like trim. This is the first Nissan we have owned (we have a Kia Sorento and a Hyundai Veracruz at home and in the past have had several Fords, a Buick, a Honda, a Toyota and a Dodge).

We drove the Murano on holiday road trips to see family - love the improvement in gas mileage from my Veracruz, and the overall comfort level for me and passengers. My 2 6-foot-plus boys had no complaints about leg space in the back (which was one of my purchase requirements).

Immediately after purchasing I began researching Android Auto options (wanted to maintain the 360 cameras so ruled out 3rd party/after market head units). I looked at NavTool but then found the thread on this forum about radio swaps from newer year models. Ultimately I found a Bose radio from a 2018 Murano SL from a salvage shop online and successfully swapped it for my original radio. Already loved the new (to me) car, but really love having Android Auto to boot.

Hello Everyone,
My husband and I just bought a 2019 Nissan Murano SV AWD and so far we love the car. This is our first Nissan and first Murano so we are just learning the ropes. I came to this site in hopes that some of you who know this car can help me solve a mystery or two. One of the things that is puzzling is that when I tried to make sure Lane departure prevention and warning were turned on but the lane option was not part of the other options I could choose.. I saw other things like blind spot etc but it seems to not be on there. The car was originally from Canada and I wonder if they don't include all the features in their cars as do cars in the US? That may not have anything to do with it but would appreciate feedback and or suggestions. The other question is the AWD automatic as I never saw a lock button to switch to AWD? I'm afraid we didn't know to ask the questions to learn the car.

I might be wrong on this but I don’t think Lane Departure Prevention is an option on the SV. We get blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert...and with the premium package added we get the front and rear parking sensors, intelligent around view monitor. I think the SL gets intelli lane intervention with the Technology Package or you get it in the Platinum. I still have the 2019 Murano booklet that shows the options...so unless it’s wrong or I’m misunderstanding the feature you’re referring to I think you don’t see the option because it’s not included. Perhaps someone else will chime in if I’m wrong.

I believe the lane departure warning requires the large camera in front of the rear view mirror. The camera also used for pedestrian detection, high beam assist, and traffic sign recognition. So if you don't have the camera or other technologies, you won't have lane departure warning.

Hi Kae, thank you for your response. My owners manual states if so equipped. The strange thing is different web sites I looked up and some Nissan dealers seem to say the 2019 does come with Intelligent Lane Intervention. I know the trim has lots to do with what a car comes with. You may be correct. Anyone else have a 2019 SV AWD and want to chime in? I would appreciate it. Do you know if the software can be added? Thanks so much for your reply. Becky

Mine isn’t AWD but I have a 2019 SV with Premium Package. The owners manual on page 5-32 says “If so equipped). So if you have it then you would have the switch indicated on page 5-33 which would be located to the left of your steering wheel (look at page 0-6 at the area labeled #23 where either you have blank buttons or the options available which would be the heated steering wheel switch, Liftgate, and Dynamic Driver Assistance switch....which is the one you would have if you have the feature). I think people may also be confusing the blind spot alert as a lane assistant when they are saying the 2019 SV has Intelligent Lane Intervention but I’m not sure. But if in the owners manual any feature says ‘if so equipped” you may or may not have it. Hopefully someone else will confirm but I can say for sure the 2019 SV with premium package does not. Can’t speak on the AWD version but the brochure does not show any version of the SV having it.

Also take a look at your window sticker if you have it. Base SV intelligent features on mine matches the brochure which is the Intelligent Driver Alertness, Intelligent Climate Control, and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. The Premium package gives you Intelligent Around View Monitor and Intelligent Cruise Control. Appears to indicate that in the specs chart in the back of the brochure also.

This is the camera I mentioned in my post above. If you don't have it, you don't have Intelligent Lane Intervention and warning, or the other technologies I mentioned.

Kae, I appreciate you so much! Sadly, we don't have the vehicle sticker or the list of features that came with car. I took my car in to a Nissan dealership to have them update the camera since that was a recall item. While I was at it, I asked why I didn't have some of the specs when some docs we have said the car we purchased is Platinum. The dealer confirmed we just had a SV AWD. He also stated it is originally a Canadian car and they may offer different upgrades then US cars. You have been so kind and I appreciate chatting with you. Hi Guys and Gals! I'm Amanda from San Antonio, Texas and I am the proud new owner of a 2012 Nissan Murano SL V6. I love this suv! I just went through hell trying to get my 99 Jeep WJ up and running to no avail. I thought I loved my Grand Cherokee till I actually drove my MO for a good while. Now, I'm hooked. Bought it used and had to have the CV joint replace or fixed a week after purchase. Now, the gentleman that was putting my new brake pads on lost the lock nut key and I am having HELL finding a replacement that is cheap and close by. If anyone out there knows what part # for the key and is willing to give it to me I would greatlyh appreciate it. Thank you!
