210 KM/h would indicate that your car (All Canadian cars?) does not have the electronics limiting the top speed?
Several testers said that 118 MPH was the top (governed) speed on a Murano.
I saw an indicated 120 MPH on mine. (Speedo error?)

The stock T-rated tires are rated up to 118mph. I always assumed the Murano was limited to that speed.

Well, that's interesting... I don't know when I'll get a chance to try it again, but I remember thinking that it was lower than my Maxima which had the lawyers kick in at 225, 5 more then the A4 that was dead even with me. And that's on the 3.0 litre...

Mine was a first build, being put together October 2002.

Mine's definately limited to 118mph. I've been there many times now.

i have made it over 220 km/hr (~225--230) ..... on Hwy 1 in alberta... it was last summer and with my Escort Radar detector there was a stretch of highway about 5 miles with clear visibility no cops.. no trees.. no on coming traffic.... so i put the MO to test and performed really well except for some wind noise which was obvious......

it was the fastest i ever drove..... thanks to MO.....

Interesting, it means your Murano does not have speed governor. Hm,............shall we swap? :D

I did take the MO to apprx. 115 mph. It was so easy, so smooth. But I did feel the speed. I would be affraid to take it over 200 kph.

I did mine on Alligator Alley.
(I75 East-west)
All you have to watch for is a bear in the air.
120 indicated, which I believe to be 118 true, both ways.

It did OK.
I'ld rather be in a car at that speed.

As an old Grand National race car driver, I found two things
A- I think people who are guessing that maybe it could do in excess of 130/140 w/o governor are probably wrong. The thing has the aerodynamics of a brick.
B- it wouldn't go that speed with me in it.
It was already too light. There is approx zero downforce at 118.
To thoise who felt it was "fine" at that speed, try this..........just move from one lane to the other and back.
Wait. I was just kidding. Do not try that.
You could set up a long slide that youmight not get out of.

Some things could be done to help it.
Some of the large holes up front could be taped shut. No way is that much cooling required.
The front air dam could be extened quite a bit lower.
The mirrors could be removed or at least folded.
The Air Deflector for the Sun roof could be removed.
An air foil could be added to the rear of the roof.

Side air dams and a lowering would help a lot.

Oh well, If I wanted something really fast I would have bought a Hemi or a Pontiac.:D

It goes plenty fast for what it is.

Homer,

I agree with you. The max speed was last thing on my mind when I was buying Murano. And yes, I would prefer a car when driving with speed over 100 mph. No doubt. Murano is just no made for that.

Pontiac? GTO? Or maybe Monaro....:D

alrite the murano mite not be "made" to be goin 120-140....but it sure does 120 VERY smoothly!! lol

the aerodynamics arent as bad as you guys think...i think what really kills it is the air scoop for the tranny rite at the bottom of the car that really hurts it!

I found it got a little light in it's feet approaching 120 Mph and really had no desire to test how much steering was left at that speed...

I agree, not what I got it for..

I have been 135 in my Z, and got a ticket at 105...

I wont ever do that again... I have to recommend that yall keep it within 25 miles over the limit.

I came off incredibally lucky that I didnt get arrested. Had I been busted at 135, I would have.

* this is not an admission to anything and could very well be fictional boasting :p
