I have an 03 SL with standard OEM non-HID lights. I wanted to keep the halogen lights but get something a little whiter and brighter for headlights and fogs. What does everyone suggest I use?

I tried the silverstars, cool blues and hyperwhites, all too warm for me around 4100K max, with the HID's being 4350 / 4400 K, I really
need closer to 5000K to do the job IMHO. Still looking for the perfect match, and recommendations, Try a Google for 5000, 5100 5150K 9006 Bulbs and you will get some good responses, So far I have not yet decided to pay $80 for a pair of 9006's Grip :D

I agree $80 is silly for bulbs... I just don't find the OEM halogen very good at lightning the road... something is lacking with them.

i have some Bulbs for sale, brand new, they're called "XtremeVision" bulbs, they say they have a 6500k color temp. they're bright and come with a lifetime warranty.

here's what they look like, PM me if you're interested for $24 shipped.

This look like the right place to jump in and ask a bulb question.

I have HIDs, now the dim lights above the HIDs (clearance lights?) if you replace them, with say bright LEDs, will it help with the HID cut-off?

i.e. how HIDs are real bright but cut-off quickly.

Two things I got the KYO 4500K bulbs and am now finally happy, really match the HID in color. They are available in 55 and 80Watt. I used the 55's. Second as far as helping the cuts of the HID by changing the clearance light I dout it, it might look so on a garage door but a 100ft out, I don't think so but could be wrong. The led would definatly have a mor focused beam but still only a fraction of the output of the HID'd GRIP :D
