Hello,

(Showing my ignorance about how Apple CarPlay is supposed to work...) If I'm viewing Google Maps on the screen, can I listen to the Murano's built-in audio, such as AM/FM/SXM, at the same time? Do the steering wheel controls still work with the built-in audio while I'm looking at Google Maps?

Conversely, if I'm listening to iPhone audio, do some or all of the steering wheel controls work for that?

For those interested in solving the slow charge for older units, I've purchased the Motorola wireless dongle for Android Auto. It does not work with CarPlay so this is only for Android Auto users. This solves slow charging because you don't need to have the phone plugged in and you can use a cigarette plug with a fast charger to connect the phone to while it wirelessly connects to the car Android Auto interface. The reason why I picked the Motorola one is for two reasons. It is the only officially supported by Google and unlike others, works in low and high temperature so you can leave it in the car at all times. And I also don't trust the Chinese brands with connecting anything to my phone. God knows what info a device like this could be sending to some Chinese servers. Anyway, it fits perfectly in the small compartment of our Muranos. Cost is $99

You can confirm that the motorola will work with Xanavi? Im using Carlinkit 4.0 and it doesnt seem to work. would love to know before i ordered another. thanks

Yes it works fine. I have two cars with two of them working fine for a couple of months now. Just understand that this will only work with Android Auto. This does NOT work with CarPlay.

And what is your concern, compared to the fact that your phone ALREADY enables tracking you and establishes a data chain that tells data thieves everything short of your underwear size??

We just bought a used 2017 and were disappointed by the lack of Carplay. Did some searching and found/joined the forum specifically because of this discussion. I'm heading out of town today but when I get back I'm going to do this and will post updates.

I took the plunge and I'm happy I did. He responded quickly to FB messages. The PDF instructions were clear and easy to follow. The download to my computer took about 35 minutes. It took about 10 minutes to write the code to the SD card and just under 15 minutes to install in my car (2017 Murano Platinum)

. He responded within 10 minutes to my email for the access key. CarPlay works great and all of the factory buttons work (camera, volume, etc). If you are on the fence, do it!

New here and not very tech savvy. I just paid and now I'm trying to figure out how to install. I have both a Mac and Windows laptop (not sure if one is easier than the other), and I also purchased a SD card and reader. As I understand it, I have everything you need. I just need to figure out how to muster up enough brain power to install it!

I should note: the link they provided to download to your PC (not burn onto the SD card) didn't load, so I'm not sure if I can proceed without doing that.

Any tips or recommendations? Thanks in advance.
