Hi - Anyone tint there front windows yet? Just want to know if you need to have moleskin added on the inside of the window frame as to not scratch the tint. On my TL you needed to do this as if you did not, after a few ups and downs of the window the tint would scratch.

I don't see why you would. I would simply take a look at the inside rubber piece that rubs up against the window as it travels. If it looks like it has a layer of synthetic fuzz on it, and the fuzz is rubbing against the window, then no you won't need the moleskin.
You should also call a reputable tint shop and ask them the same question. They're the best ones to ask since they do it all day every day.

I've been thinking about this as well. What is everyone that has done it experience with which one to get to get close to the rear but still be legal? I have a black MO and it looks so sharp from the rear doors back that I'm thinking that I'd like to do the front. I'm not young anymore so I'd still like to see where I'm going and when I remember back to my HS days ... it was difficult to back up at night as everything was so dark!

Lots of people have tinted their windows including myself (1st Gen tho). I have some low res pics in my gallery of 35% Pinnacle Series window film. I'd recommend it highly since it is a ceramic film (not a hybrid), guaranteed for life from fading, chipping, peeling, changing color, etc. And being ceramic, it wont interfere with radio signals. Plus it looks really nice! I was lucky to have an authorized shop only a couple miles away.

I would first check your local laws to see where legal limit is. VA law is 50% on fronts. I went 1 step darker for same reasons you've mentioned. Rear is about 20% which imo is too dark for fronts. I have been impressed with how well I can see thru the Pinnacle at night. I had cheapo 20% film in high school and it was very hard to see thru.

I don't think the tint shop did anything special for my Murano. There's a shop just a block away from my dealer and they do 'em all the time and it matches real well. I actually think it looks funny to have the back windows and rear window tinted but not the front. In fact, I remember calling the salesman over after I bought the car and telling him that there was something wrong with it 'cause the front windows weren't tinted. 
I should also mention that the fronts actually have a factory tint already. Its not much, no more than 10%, but should be factored in when considering window film.
Hi and thanks for the response. I am going with the Limo tint as well then. Turns out that the Murano has felt on the rubber wipes on the window sill. On the Acura I owned it did not resulting in scratches from top to bottom. Kind of a bummer for a car that cost more than a Murano. Sure happy I made the trade though.
I went with 30% on mine, which is NOT legal. I had to sign a waiver at the shop saying I knew it was illegal. They also make you pay cash if you happen to bring it in to have the tint removed (probably due to ticket).
The guy at the shop said he figured the factory was pretty close to 20% so the fronts do look a bit lighter than the back. Still looks sharp though, and I've never had any issues with the police. But if I did, I'd have no one to blame but myself...

Also, and I speak from experience, dont skimp on budget for film. The old saying holds true here, you get what you pay for. Buying cheap film will not only look blurry, not match the hue of your rears and interfere with your radio, but will turn purple within a couple years, which is the ultimate Badge of Cheap. Do a little research on the various films - There are about a half dozen of types of film by several manufactures. The best option is having a lifetime warranty against all the above mentioned, plus chipping, fading, cracking. Anyway it's worth the time investment to get it right the first time.
Hi - Update - Just had 15% Luminar metallic tint installed on the front side windows and it looks great. Pretty close match with the factory tint on the rears. I may get 30% added over the factory tint to provide better UV and heat protection as the shop said the factory tint is not that great on keeping the UV rays out as well as lets more heat in. I need it here as I live @ 8500ft with lots of snow and sunshine so the sun can gets pretty intense in this high altitude year round. Already have had pre-cancerous stuff taken off the drivers side of my face and arm.
Had my MO for a week now, its snowing to beat the band here and am very happy with my purchase. Handles great in the foul weather.
