Just installed Curt 13577 class III tow hitch..

Didn't even have to lower the exhaust. Was able to slide it in (after removing the tow bracket on the left side) and install in about 20 minutes by myself.. It would be easier with two people..

This is the second Curt hitch I've bought from e-bayer "bestlesstruck"

$135.95 including shipping.. $89.00 for the 05 I had..

It was here in 4 days

I can't ever figure out how to make the files small enough for photo's, but you can go to my cardomain.com page

cardomain.com

click on nissan--- murano---half way down the second murano page.. I've posted both my old 05 and the 09

Nice looking MO brewman
I am planning on getting the 2009 and I have a yard trailer that i need to tow. because of your pictures I will be ordering the Curt hitch, but i didnt find it for less on eTrailer.com

I am wondering if that sticker that says Curt on it is removeable?

Now that I have the hitch, I'll probably look into wiring it .. Hopefully not to complicated..

I usually just carry bicycles, but it would be nice have the option for light trailering.. Jetski's???

Would not want to over burden the CVT

What shows on the hitch

mykwalker2 - On the Curt hitch, the receiver and bar show. In looking at the diagrams for the Hidden Hitch, it appears that it is constructed more like the OEM hitch where only the receiver shows. The bar is hidden by the bumper cover.

Hello Brewman2

A quick question I hope you can answer.
I am wondering if that sticker that says Curt, is it removeable?

Yes it is removable. I took mine off and put it on the side out of sight.

Video on How to install the Hitch

I like the Hidden Hitch style.

I just added a few pics in my gallery of the Drawtite on my wife's 09 LE - dirty yet you get the design/install etc.. No need to drop the muffler on this install either. I applied numerous layers of masking tape to the lower bumper next to the exhaust to keep from scratching it given the need to nudge it up in there... Took me about 40 min total with drilling the hitch for the lower bumper plugs/attachment.

Brewman2 - Very nice 09 Mo - Love the color!!

Cheers all

The Drawtite looks even better than the Hidden Hitch. I thought there was no drilling involved?? Can you install it without drilling like the Hidden Hitch that comes with zip ties?

Yes, I just felt the zip tie process of holding the bumper cover to the hitch was ridiculous. When I first read that on the directions I thought to myself - why not ductape.... :)

The lower bumper cover has two tabs that utilized pop-in plugs to fasten it to the bumper support - however, the support must be removed to install the hitch etc.. All I did was drill two corresponding holes on the bottom of the hitch to facilitate the same bumper tabs and pop-in plugs. You can see them in my gallery pictures on either side of the receiver.

A much cleaner/professional install vise zip ties holding your bumper cover on... EEEEK

Cheers

I installed the wiring harness from etrailer.com:

118481 T-One Connector w/Upgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite - Nissan Murano 1 $54.95

Took maybe 45 minutes to install, and I did not have to run power, I tapped off the pre-existing thicker gauge power wire running to the back (looks like it is there specifically for trailer) added in line fuse as well. The other two wires were plug and play, and then a nice grommet available against the bumper to run the wire down.

Already tested and working great!

Good to hear!

Thanks ZBoy. So I take it the harness location behind the tail lights was relatively easy to access? Where abouts was the heavier gauge power wire you mentioned, located?

I'll probably be installing mine next week.

Many thanks

It wasn't *too* hard to reach, but it requires pulling some plastic side panels. pull out the rear flooring to see the *********** wire.
