Hey guys, so I bought this car brand new, and set the mem 1 and 2 from day 1.. everything worked great until 2 weeks ago. The seat stopped moving forward and back, while all other controls worked fine. after some digging, i found that gear head in the motor to be "eaten up" so up on ebay, found a replacement part, replaced it, and all controls on seat work again. EXCEPT the memory feature. i reset everything again, and set the setting for 1 and 2. my wife is 5'3 while i'm 6'4. so its a big adjustment from 1 to 2. after setting everything, hitting 1, the mirrors go to the setting, the seat height, back angle, but it doesnt go back or forward. so i manually have to push the lever to slide back. lock the car, open w/ fob #2, and again, seat moves up, mirrors adjust everything goes, EXCEPT the forward/back motion!! What the heck?!?!

anyone??

My 06 Owner Manual says that the entry/exit function will be deactivated by removing the battery cable or holding the Set button for more than 10 seconds while the ignition key is in the Lock . Could also be a fuse. To activate, open and close the driver door more than two times with the ignition key or ignition switch in the Lock position to activate the entry/exit function.

3-33 in my owner manual. Hope this helps

isnt this the same feature that can simply be activated in the elec systems settings on the display? its already activated, and the seat DOES slide back fo easy exit. it does NOT, however, go to the correct forward/backward position as stored in the MEM 1 or 2. although the other power seat positions in memory, do.

I am not sure, as I have not needed to reset mine. I just gave you what the manual says.

I am sure others on the forum have experienced this problem and can give you specific information.

gotcha. i do thank you for your input :) :29:

I don't know if you've solved your memory problem yet, but, in case you haven't...there is a little magnetic ring on your original gear that needs to be placed on the new gear in place of the nylon ring that came with it. Without it your seat memory will not function. Your seat will still back on exit (this is set to on or off in your settings) but it will not move forward when you get in.
