Heard that Murano Hybrid 2.5L turbo will be available in China, practically same performance as 3.5L here in North America. When will it be made available here:|, anybody know?

Heard that Murano Hybrid 2.5L turbo will be available in China, practically same performance as 3.5L here in North America. When will it be made available here:|, anybody know?
I searched that topic extensively before ordering our Murano and I came to a conclusion that:
1. It won't be brought here in NorthAmerica, at least not until 2017-2018 (when maybe first facelift will be due).
2. Gas prices are low (relatively) again so don't expect Nissan to rush bringing this hybrid to us here.
3. Nissan has limited plant production volumes. It can barely satisfy Muranos from Canton plant to US/Canada - there is still shortage of Murano's here in Canada. Unbelievable, but true. All models get discounts (if you check Nissan website) except Murano - since its new and in shortage and is selling hot even without any discounts. GT-R is in shortage too - but that's another story.
4. Trust me, I've seen and talked to guys who owned Pathfinder hybrid - same powerplant (2,5L engine + electric motor + batteries) that Nissan is putting in Murano in Asia. Their conclusion is that it drives much less enthusiastically, has less driving dynamics compared to V6, and most importantly while it costs premium for hybrid - it delivers only marginally better fuel economy. That was for Pathfinder. It is a bit heavier than Murano. For Murano it may deliver a bit more fuel savings, but overall it will be roughly +2-3MPG at most. It's not worth trading driving dynamics and paying extra money for that.
5. One of the reason why Nissan dropped their Pathfinder Hybrid in US market - due to low sales. No one wanted to pay more for meh.. like dynamics and only marginally beetr MPG.
So all in all - if you want really good hybrid to appear in Murano - you'll have to wait till 2018 at least, at that point they may revise current hybrid powertrain and come up with something better than that, that will give real MPG savings and will not sacrifice dynamics.

I don't believe there is any factory or Nismo 2.5L turbo. Aftermarket yes, but then you can do almost anything aftermarket if you have enough money. Could you give a cite for that? And as stated above, Nissan hybrids suck.

but as I said when I talked to guys who actually drove that powerplant on Pathfinders - it sucked in terms of dynamics - not anywhere close to V6 and even more sad that MPG's were not at all what was promised. When Nissan will polish this technology and offer it in version 2 (or 3) later doen the road in 2018-2020 - then yes. But now I feel sorry for Chinese folks who will not experience V6 power and will get stuck with this 4-banger. Even Ford that pushes it's EcoBoost 4-bangers - realized they suck in dynamics even with turbo and still can't deliver promised MPGs. Now they are even thinking changing whole EcoBoost name to something else, since there is nothing Eco in it. >
