System update dvd

From what I understand the update is composed of 5 dvd, one being a system update dvd and the 4 others being the actual maps. While the maps require a special code to be entered it seems the system update doesn't.

Can anybody upload the 2016 system update dvd? @MO-Rosh72? @dcrooks? :D

I just got my 2011 MO SL with NAV and i'd like everything software related to be up to date :)

Do the software updates affect the stupidity of the voice recognition system at all? I'd like to use my nav system as opposed to my Garmin because my nav system has a bigger screen and voice recognition, but the voice commands are stupid. What I hate is how I have to tell it where I am, I wish it would just already know where I am. Does the latest update fix that, or will I still have to tell it where I am before I can tell it where I want to go?

@TK-421, I'd be happy to try and answer your question :)
@MO-Rosh72, @dcrooks, Is there any way for you to share the update dvd?
I assume you're familiar with the process, but just in case, you can use a tool such as infra recorder to create the iso image and then upload it on any cloud storage service (mega.nz does the job well). If you don't have a really good connection you can create multi-file archive using 7z (to upload smaller files).

My MO still do well since I bought it, but i'd really want to get the software part up to date. I tried streaming music via bluetooth and it did have issue displaying metadata (artist name, song etc..). I think small issues like this one have been fixed in newer system revisions.

By the way on another forum (http://www.infinitiqx60.org/forum/2....org/forum/2013-qx60-general-discussion-forum/85649-map-version.html#post151409) a user is reporting voice recognition improvements:
I just did the update on my 2014 QX60. It took care of an area in Dallas that was not on the previous version. It also updated some of the other software such as now being able to just say "Call Jim Smith" instead of going through all the prompts. That was a nice update.

Yep...super shady to attempt to share. Besides, I believe you need a code tied to your vehicle VIN. Could be wrong about the code though.

Btw do the new updates support better graphic on map or even 3D? I have original maps from my 2013 and both voice recognition and map graphics are soooooo first gen!!!!

Bumping this thread as I'm the proud owner of a 2016 Murano who recently received an email from Nissan saying that my map updates would be $129 including shipping if ordered by 12/29.

Has anyone on the forum purchased the latest updates? Is it still a dvd update? I'm assuming so since the email mentions free shipping.

I'm not so sure it's worth it this time around since the vehicle is driven 90% by my wife around town.

Has anyone skipped one update and updated the next time around? Has that been effective? Or is this a one-time deal and if I don't update this time, I am removed from all future mailings?

Appreciate any recommendations/advice.

I have a 2013 that I haven't updated maps on yet. I plan to do it near the start of the year as I recall last few years they sent me a $50 off. I hope that you can update vs having to do it incrementally. Will let you know in a few months I guess, but please let us know if you need to do it in order!

Navigation maps ...of little value, in my opinion

Thought I was getting a great deal with the Murano's 'built-in' navigation. Have been disappointed because the system often tells me I'm in unknown territory when I'm traveling through flat farmland in central Ohio! I don't trust that an update would be worth $100. Although it obscures a few inches of windshield, my Garmin GPS is a superior value with its accuracy and free map updates for the life of the unit.

I just installed the 2018 (actually 2016/2017) update for my 2015 Murano

When doing so, it does update all the firmware and software. It just might be my imagination but my backup camera display looks a bit sharper!

Anyone else notice any improvement or changes?

I just did the update. The DVD set cost approx $169. I paid the Dealer $100 to do the update. It took approx 3 hrs"

Thx Doug
Really it only took 3hrs?! I saw a youtube video of some guy updating his 370z and it look him 6-8hrs to do. I wonder why some cars take longer then others? I was shying away from doing it because I thought it take all day to do it, but 3hrs is not bad at all! You still need to hook up a battery charger I take it. $100 for the dealer to do it isn't too bad either, seeing how it can save you getting lost on new roads and wasting gas and valuable time on a road trip.
