Found the USB problem

I finally found the problem. When playing MP3 on my USB centre console, When it is starts to play a certain song. the system freezes. It has happened several times at the same place. I even back up to go play that song and same problem.
Ok, maybe cannot read the file, system should make me skip, that song and on like my old 2011 did.

After a while system reboots NISSAN CONNECTS, and since it left on the USB it goes back where it left and freezes again. I have to remove the USB when it Nissan Connects starts, so that way it goes to other sources.

Is there a way to shut the system, skip this problem, it's not normal I have to wait several minutes till the system restarts.

If it's a certain MP3 file, why not just remove that mo3 from the USB drive? I had a couple that played fine in my 2011 Ford Edge but don't wanna play in the Murano so I just delegated them from the drive, problem solved....

I had this USB playing on my old 2011 Murano, no issue, I play this USB same place in my 2017 ABARTH no issue.
That is cannot read an MP3 song, ok, but freeze the whole system(radio, xm, gps and bluetooth), can't even power it off, After playing with the buttons I have to wait 3-5 minutes till if powers off by itself and when powering on I have to remove the USB, othewise the problem persists
Sorry there's a software bug, and this issue needs to be solved by Nissan.

Well went to the Dealer and they noticed that this particular song freezes the radio, they copied the file to an USB file of their own played it in another 2017 Murano and froze the radio. But song plays on other cars. They will forward the problem to Nissan. I will also forward the problem.

Question is, that the song doesn't play I can live with that and able to skip that song, but to freeze the radio, that's not acceptable. Like I told them there's a problem with the radio software and this issue needs to be solved by Nissan.

ive gone through the whole USB freezing scenario. This will solve it:

1. do not use PNY memory

2. Format the memory to FAT32 (you will need a utility for this if using a large USB stick)

3. Create folders for the songs and limit the songs per folder to under 256

I have a large digital photo frame that loads the photographs from a USB flash drive. Same problem as a certain photo freezes the digital frame. It's a CORRUPT FILE, just delete it! I deleted that photo, frame works flawlessly now and life goes on as usual.

I think you're making a big deal out of it. It's just a corrupt mp3. This happens all the time. Delete it. Life goes on.

I don't think I am making a big deal, when the radio freezes and cannot shut down, It's a software with the radio, and it's appriated that Nissan fixes the bug. A $50k can car, sorry I don't accept such issues good for you but not for me. Why my old 2011 Murano, I could of just skip it and no problem. Any way, Nissan has my email and the dealer is also reporting the issue.
