I'd stick with the USB method. Use Nissan's Map Tool, it allows more customization of the maps you want.

I used the OTA WiFi method when I first received my '19. After it doing it my head unit would reboot occasionally... Since I've been using the USB method my head unit hasn't rebooted.

There is a head unit recall update for my '19 that may correct the problem I encountered, maybe your '20 already has this update however.

I just remembered, there are two update options for OTA updates. One for the head unit, and one for maps. Which one are you looking to perform?
The update for the head unit. I've been having some connection issues with Car Play and my Iphone so I thought that maybe Nissan addressed that but it may have been just my USB cable to car USB input.

I'd try the head unit OTA update (if there's one's available) to see if it helps with the cable sensitivity issue...

You're under warranty, so if something goes awry you're covered.

I have checked several times for HU OTA updates but there has never been one. I think some of the updates are very large and are likely limited to install at the dealership only.
What year is your Murano?

I have a '19 and was told be the dealership if I didn't have the recall update for the backup camera installed I wouldn't be able to receive head unit updates... I haven't had the recall update done yet for fear it may introduce some other issue...

I have a 2019 that received some HU update right after I got it, around September 2019 (pretty sure that took me up to version 0810). I was told at the time that I would be able to do OTA updates going forward. That didn't seem to be true since the last update I got was applied at the dealership. Based on the instructions I read online, it was a very large update. It did fix my AA issues though so it was totally worth it.

I think my current OS version is 0912. Worth getting if you aren't updated to that version yet.

I was getting audio dropouts when playing any audio while connected to AA. Worked just fine over BT. And, what made it even worse, you could NOT STREAM OVER BT as your audio source while connect to AA. With recent AA software updates and the HU update everything is working well now.

Thank you for that useful information. I have only used AA for navigation, I've been using a USB drive for my music. I think I'll have them update my HU next time I'm at the dealer.
