Yes. I finally get my new ride. The '09 Murano. I investigate all my options and find the LE is the trim package to go with if you want the full-fledged iPod integration (not just an aux-in scenario). At least currently it sounds like the LE is the only option... but I got it and love the extra LE features anyhow...
So I get the 3G iPod Nano that we have lying around and load it up with my tunes and get out to the ride... There's the cable... Attach it... Now attach to iPod... should be good to go per the manual...
"Ipod not Attached"...
DAMN! What is going on. I do some research and dig through forums and come to the conclusion that the firmware is a factor. Over on SoundDomain.com forums where I used to hang my hat there was mention by someone to not upgrade your firmware to 1.1.3 or many vehicle OEM integrations are breaking...
Little more research and I find the 3G Nano's have different firmware version... so I check mine... v1.1 and its current since iTunes prompted me to upgrade it while I was loading and I proceeded with the update (since I hadn't found any warning otherwise at that time)... So it seems v1.1 is the "most current" as of this writing...
Still no luck... Now I'm getting pissy... I went with the LE for this integration and now it's not working... WTH...
So I dig into the Murano's manual... There's a table that mentions specific supported firmware versions.... And... now the real kick in the nuts... The manual says for Nano's it supports v1.2.... Wait... What did that say? v1.2? Apple only claims to have 1.1 per their updating tools built into iTunes...
Sooooo.... Is Nissan counting on a forthcoming update? Is it a typo? Is the integration half baked like many others?
My sales rep hasn't been any use post-sale on this matter and I've been asking him to put me in contact with someone (anyone) who can begin to pursue resolving this....
So Mo' owners... Help! What's a newbie to the Nissan world to do here? I'm going to be livid if I have to wait week upon week for resolution to this...
Are there any good support #'s I should be able to get and start from that angle? I don't expect my local dealership can do a thing about it....
