Is it possible to do a simple radio swap? I know where a 2017.5 is at (junk yard) and would buy the radio to put in 2016 if it is an easy task. I want the Carplay and newer maps, but I am unsure if this is possible.

I've been reading more about the Maxima swaps and am almost 100% positive this is going to work. The radios they are using appear to be the same as ours with different dash trim, so if they can swap, we can too! I'll update you guys this evening once the radio arrives and I get it installed.

The seller (auto recycler) stated it came out of a 2017.5. I trusted him based on reputation. Others may want to check the VIN of the donor vehicle first.

Is yours a stock radio or Bose setup?

Did either your radio or the replacement radio have navigation? EDIT Sorry I forgot that you mentioned that you wanted updated maps, me bad ;)

Thanks and have a great day.

Mine is the non-Bose system. I see no reason for the swap to not work for the Bose guys, though. Just make sure the 2017.5 radio that you get comes from a car with the Bose system.

I can verify this works i installed 25915-9UE1A model into my 2015 platinum, takes about 30-45 minutes if you google radio install for our murano's you will find kit installs which tell you what you need to take off, i would say just be patient when your pulling the dash apart as stuff feels like it may brake but it comes out i also suggest plastic pry tools for interiors they were a huge help, once swapped i had both android auto and carplay I got one off ebay for 150$ you can get them thru the online junk yard websites but they run 6-800$ my best advice is keep your eye on ebay and look for that exact model number i believe there is now a 25915-9UE1b updated model as well thats out of the 18's, i will say having carplay in the factory radio is very nice.

Hi Folks

A couple of questions.
  1. Is the 2017.5 nav & Bose model # 25915-9UC4A ?
  2. Has anyone had any freezing issues with the above unit ?
I ask this as -for my 2016, I’m on my 2nd factory head unit due to freezing issues and they are persisting with the replacement unit. I’m a couple of months into my 1 year warranty on the 2nd unit. I’m considering, with fingers crossed , that I will suggest my 2016 freezing unit be replaced with the 2017.5 unit. This assumes the 2017.5 is freeze free. I know I’m dreaming that the dealer will do this but I’m quite frustrated with this so I’m hopeful.

Sorry for the large font. I’m not good with an iPad.

IT Works! Thanks to research on this thread my 2016 now has Apple car play. I was able to find a 2017 radio for my 2016 platinum Murano. I got a used 2017 radio online. Use http://www.car-part.com/ to search for a 2017 model.
mine was a BOSE 11 speaker with navigation. I found one at Bills Used Auto Parts for $200, $25 for shipping. i got a local stereo place to swap it out for $85 took them about an hour, but you can probably do it yourself.
The 2017 one I got was part # 25915 9UC1A it has Apple Carplay. Somepne else on the thread posted 25915- 9UC4A will also work. Just make sure it comes from a 2017.5 Murano, the earlier 2017 cars may not have Carplay. Make sure the radio you are buying also has the map SD card. It located behind a plastic door to the right of the CD slot, you can call the parts store to verify. The brown port means Bose,

I'm getting confused as to which model numbers work with Nav/Bose. The person who swapped into a 2015 Plat I would assume had Bose and nav and had part number 25915-9UE1A and SaLLYATL above swapped into a 2016 with Nav and Bose with part number 25915 9UC1A. Looking at some online now. By the look of the tags It would appear that as long as it says Navigation on it that it should work. Anyone have any clarification?
