Is it possible to do a simple radio swap? I know where a 2017.5 is at (junk yard) and would buy the radio to put in 2016 if it is an easy task. I want the Carplay and newer maps, but I am unsure if this is possible.

Lol. There has to be a purpose for it but we tore my car up and there was no brown wire. Let me know if your install worked. I lost climate control and steering wheel controls on mine and had to put old radio back. I want to give it another go based on success stories. These radio models and years are so confusing

This is great news and congrats! I still need some help from this community based on my first install gone bad (returned the radio).

I have a 16 SV with Bose. In laymen’s terms, what radio do I have - and what radio do I need for a perfect swap with CarPlay? I didn’t get a pic of the back of the radio last time I had it out.

Thanks in advance!

I’m in Philly burbs and also have the box at the bottom of my radio which requires a plug - whereas some radios for sale do not have this box attached. Interestingly enough, some radios with the illusive brown connector - supposedly indicating Bose- also do not have this box under the radio, but most do.

I just want to order the correct radio at this point that will get me CarPlay, and not stop my climate control or steering wheel audio controls. I’m still baffled how that happened- as the radio with CarPlay worked flawlessly otherwise.

Based on the radio list I found on this forum by year, it seems the radio I tried in my 2016 was a 2018 radio. It is likely the 2018 radio is not compatible with the 2016 and only the 2017.5 is plug and play for carplay. Just a theory. I sourced a 2017.5 and will give it another go because I’m determined to get CarPlay.

When I mentioned my radio has a box on bottom with a plug , I was referring to the attached pic. Some radios don’t have this

I have that under my radio and I believe that that is not part of the radio itself. I believe that black module is part of the air bag system. If unplugged with the car battery connected, owners have complained of having the seatbelt warning light stay on and having to go to the dealer to have it reset.

My 2018 radio was sent without it, just the radio and frame. I believe it's in all Murano's.

Good luck. You should be able swap the logic board yourself now with the radio you've got coming to get Apple Play in your setup.

Have a good day.

Hello everybody, I am very excited by the promise of having ACP in my 16 platinum. AA would be a bonus. I am however completely confused by the model numbers and years months listed here. I understand 2017.5 have ACP but how do I know which ones are .5 and what model am I looking for? There are a few other model numbers listed here that appear to work and some have AA but again am not sure what I should be looking for that is confirmed to work. Can somebody assist me, I realize there may be several models that work with Bose system.

I have a 2017 Murano SL Bose (nav, 11 speakers), Beside taking off the radio to find the model no, is there a way to know. Also which model with Car play(android phone) will work on my Murano.

would this model be a good replacement 25915-9UE1A for Android.
Once done the swap will the old Nav sd card work with the replacement unit tia

Thanks to all the folks in here with all the guidance and tips on how to upgrade my radio to a newer model for Apple Carplay!!!
I have a 2016 Murano SL that didn't come with Apple CarPlay; missed it by half a year. The swap was very straight forward.

I noticed an issue while using CarPlay today. When I initiated a phone call today using Siri, my dash was stuck with the display showing "Speaking". Has anyone else experienced this? I had to turn the car on and off to get rid of it.

You have to press the center white tab at the wire end firmly and pull away from the board. I think I used a plastic trim tool to help lift the end when pressing and pulling.

Have a good day.

Did you install the 2018 and check to see if it was fully functional before swapping the screen and bezel?

If it was working, all you really needed to do was swap the logic board between the two radios. The logic board controls everything except SiriusXM and the SD card holder. Check Nav antenna connector.

At this point in time, I would disassemble and check to be sure all ribbon cables are properly connected.

If that isn't the issue, put everything back the way it was and check the 2018 radio in it's original configuration.

Good luck.

Have a good day.

The board with the 40 pin connector is the logic board. That's all you should need to change out.

Take that out of the 2018 and install in your radio. Should work.

Good luck.

Have a good day.

Hi all I though I would share my experience with a head unit I purchased and confirm what works and what doesn't and what changed. It has been a struggle to figure out what radio would work that has CP and AA and with a help from another ebayer I was directed towards this model number.

I have 2016 Murano Platinum (Bose 360 camera)
I purchased 2018 Nissan Murano Navigation Display Screen CD Radio Receiver 25915 9UE3A on ebay and can confirm CP and AA both work.

What doesn't work is HD radio that is it that I have seen thus far.
What works: AA and CP both work w/o any other modification other than plugging it in. The screen is of better quality/resolution on 25915-9UE3A vs my 2016 HU. Also to my surprise the sound with the new HU is WAY better. Not sure the reason for it, the 2016 HU needed to have speed adjusted sound level turned on to give a, what I would say, reasonable sound but now it is considerably better w/o that turned on.

For what its worth the person that helped me with this radio also mentioned 25915-9UE3B that it would work similarly to the 3A unit and also without HD radio.
