And MO parts are not cheap!!

If I could get a report on all bulb types needed for all bulb sockets inside and out I would be so happy.....
This is from my '03 owner's manual:

Damn that's that's tight. Here is what I found I do not know if it is the same as yours but do I just follow the wattage regardless of if it's HID or Halogen? What kind of bulbs/wattages are bulbs A-D? I have so many questions as I sit here so confused. This why I go to the dealership.....

Only your headlights are HID... I posted the specs for those when you asked in another thread.

If the bulb is LED, then it's likely integrated into the assembly and is not replaceable...

It sounds like you may be better off visiting your dealership if you continue to be confused...

🤔

Pair these sentences with yours.

That still did not answer my question of do I just go by the wattage regardless of if it's HID or Halogen.

I did not say anything about LED, where did that comment come from?

Why are you patronizing me? I never said I wanted to continue going to the dealership I said the reason why I went to the dealership. I come here to learn and ask questions. I don't come to a repair forum because I presumably know everything, and I am too freaking old to be self conscious about being confused if that is what your trying to perpetuate.

You got any kids bro? How abouts old are you??

Imhotep

It must be a burden going through life with that big chip on your shoulder...

Perhaps your questions are not clear, and we make out best attempt answer as best we can?

The interior bulbs that don't list a wattage are LEDs. I thought you may have been asking what their wattage should be...

Upon further thought, I think you may be confusing HID with LED, they are entirely different technologies... I'm not trying to be patronizing, just trying to clarify...

If you replace an halogen bulb with an LED, the LED will always be a much lower wattage, they are much more efficient.

Ahh, I think I now see what you may be referring to. In the corner of you second screenshot it mentions bulb types A,B,C, or D. I would check the bulb for markings to determine its wattage...

I may have incorrectly assumed you were looking to replace all your light bulbs with LEDs, that is what most posters asking similar questions are looking for...

Why do you you want to replace them all, are some of them not working?

Nevermind.

Sorry for derailing thread OP.

I just wanted to replace my bulbs because I don't know the last time they have been changed, I still don't know if should pick a different wattage Halogen vs. HID. I never talked about LEDs or replacing Halogens with LEDs. I also still do not know wattage and type of bulbs A-D are. I am still trying to figure out who "we" is composed of besides the individual who accuses me of having a chip on my shoulder when I point out changing of a narrative and point out things people say I typed but didn't. You keep bringing up LEDs I have no idea why. 🤔

If anyone can answer my questions, cool. If not. That's cool too. I am not trying to be aggressive or combative due to a inferiority complex aka Chip on Shoulder. Personally I feel that if I cannot answer a person's question or if I need clarification. I would just not reply, or ask for clarification instead of assuming they are talking about X because everyone talks about X. Or making up topics they did not mention. Or try to say multiple individuals need me to clarify, like it is a "it's not just me everyone feels this way" situation by saying "we". Those are the reasons I inquired about age and life experience. But I will dismiss myself from this thread and if I see a helping hand. Great. If not I think life will go on and I can go to AutoZone or the dealership which is what I was suggested for me to do because my confusion and asking dumb questions is just a affront to this community. And if I did not say something, just double down and say this must of been what I meant.

And I wonder why you keep bringing up HIDs when it "appears like" you're trying to replace your other interior and exterior light bulbs...

The only thing that is HID are your headlights, but I don't see any indication you understand this...

But maybe I'm the dense one, it happens, I'll admit it...

Here is a link to a website (just as an example, I have no knowledge of the website otherwise...) for 2006 light bulbs:

For some of lights, it offers a LED equivalent to the OEM incandescent bulb. Notice the wattage is significantly lower for LED bulbs.

Here is an example:

12 watts for the incandescent:

1 watt for LED equivalent:

If you're only looking to replace your HID headlights, the following is from my '03 owner's manual. Check your 2006 owner's manual to be sure yours are the same... I posted this on Christmas in the thread where we discussed whether or not you have HID headlights...

Was browsing Amazon and ran across D2S and D2R that claim to be fitted for a 2006 M SL. D2R seemed to be significantly different in price in most instances but not all,

VERSUS

Why is that?

I bought directly from Alla using their search tool.
