Would appreciate any advice on finding a replacement key fob....a little more reasonably priced. Dealer is so expensive! I am looking at websites " "CARANDTRUCKREMOTES" & AMAZON.....BOTH have a replacement with my exact FCC,IC,CONTINENTAL...Any Advise? Thanks

Unfortunately, from experience, nobody programs the 5 button Nissan remote, except for Nissan. 5 local Nissan dealers would not let me bring my own fob for programing and key cutting when called when I wanted a third fob for a third driver.

They want about $450 for everything. I was told that it has to do with the remote start security. I'm still waiting for a third fob.

Ace Hardware has the fobs and does the programming and cutting for all other Nissan keys and fobs, except the 5 button fob.

Good luck. Let us know IF you find a cheaper way.

Have a good day.

I tried a third party 4 button key fob for my 2010 Murano. After paying the local dealer to program the fob, it only would start the engine when I inserted it into the fob slot, and then start the engine. The dealer refused to cut the metal key inside the fob. I went to a hardware store and they messed up the metal key and it was unusable.

Based upon my experience, If I needed a third key, I would pay the high price that Nissan wants.

Guess my mistake was calling and asking first. I might just bite the bullet, buy a 5 button and just go to the dealer with it.

$270 is much better than the almost $500 that they quote for the 5 button fob replacement

Have a good day.
