Better double-check that response. On the 1st generation the KEY must be dealer programmed, but the FOB does not - it can be programmed by the user.

Someone please check me on this - I'm not confident of the answer on the 2nd generation Muranos.


The OP has a 2011 Murano! FACT, NO, he cannot program the fob himself. Dealer needs to do so. Dealer will have to have all fobs for the vehicle in question and will then reprogram all of them at one time. Dealer usually charges $100+- to do this.
