Proper Tire Pressure

I have the stock Goodyear Eagle on my Murano -

I just got it back from the dealer who serviced it for possible bad alignment (I don't know if they did anything, I can't feel the difference) -

anyways, when I first got the car, the Tire Pressure Monitor indicated that the tires were inflated to 40 PSI all around.

When I handed the car in the other day, I told the service guy to check the tire pressures for me - and guess what? I got them all back at 45 PSI !!!!!! How screwed up is that?

I read the door panel label for recommended tire pressure and it says 33.
Why would the monkeys at the dealership service department overinflate my tires to their maximum PSI?

I can only assume that they have idiots working there who couldn't give a damn about your car, or they have not been properly instructed about how to take pride in their "excellent service record" (according to the dealer's own self-inflated ego-boosting aggrandizing advertisment).

So I delfated the tires myself to around 35 all around. The car feels less bumpy now, thank goodness.

Thanks guys

I thought I was going crazy when I checked them myself.

But it's nice to hear that you guys know exactly how much air there is in them mechanic's heads.:D

I mean it's a brand-new car. Had it for 10 days and it only has 300 miles on it. I wouldn't want the tires to pop on the freeway from over-inflation now, do I? Yes that might be fun to see this heavy vehicle lurch all over the road, but come on............. :1:
