Been busy today installing some accessory to the MO.
1st up its a Side Step Bar a la Mercedes Side Step Bar / Running Boards.

Took me 5 hours (in between trying to watch Game 7 of the ECF) to figure out the best way to fit these, but once one side was on the other side took me all about 20 minutes to do.

The car is already high enough that I didn't need to jack it up, and I was able to fit underneath the car to do all the bolting.

I've always felt that the car was missing something and all it need was this side step. It completes the look and now I can clean the top of the car and make use of the roof rack (if I end up getting some cross bars). The side step will come handy for wifey and the kid.

Some pics of the bolting on the bottom of the car.
There was no drilling required, all the holes are already there in place.

There are some rubber seals that needs to be removed, simple removal. I initially thought they were there to hold something together.

After installing and admiring those side step bars.
Gave it a good test and got someone else to step on them too, to make sure everything was in place and it held the weight accordingly.

So, then I got on to mod no:2 of 4
The Rear Bumper Protector.

These are attached using 3M double sides tape, that was already on the bumper protector.
Did the whole clean and prep the bumper before applying the protector.

This took about 15mins all up. It's an after market piece and I recall Nissan wanted $240 from me when I initially asked for it, then I changed my mind as it was highway robbery.
Total cost was 1/4 of what Nissan wanted.

I can even see my handy work, using the reversing camera. :D

So, where did you get this stuff?
Where did u get dis stuff at... Like 2 do the same 2 my 03mo
I got this from a chinese factory that makes OEM Side steps.
The bad news is that this is a custom build.

I had previously checked out the nerf bars, that's plentiful on eBay but it just didn't look right on the MO, so I got this custom fabricated based on the Merc's ML running boards.
That's one of the reasons why it took so long to fit these, as there was no instructions. That was part of the catch when I bought it.

Though I'm happy to confirm that fitment is 100% perfect - no drilling required, no removing existing nuts, no welding or anything else. Just bolt and go.

I'm happy to ask the rep, that I dealt with and see if they can make more if there's interested parties.

They are the nicest set of running boards for the MO I have seen! (How about that, njjoe!). Too bad they are custom jobs. Also that rear bumper protector is cleaner looking than the OEM one that is on my MO.

The US never gets the good stuff like that!
You guys always get the goodies...
We get nothing here in Oz, plus shipping price always makes it that much more undesirable.

Arent those Deezee running boards? They have them for about $300 bucks on amazon and on the deezee website. If they're not they look just like them. Where did you get that bumper protector I have the one sold on nissanautosports.com. Looks nice BTW.

BTW is that an first gen MO or new gen MO?

Nope, they're not Deezee running boards.

2nd Gen MO.
Built Feb 12, purchased in April 12 :D

Australian. ;) It's interesting that the origin and price of the side steps and bumper protector seems to be a secret. lol. They look great by the way. Another pic from the side would be great, in landscape so it shows the whole car. I'm anticipating that the price will be difficult to jump over. No mention of exceeding the $1000 import GST amount so that might be promising.

I'm not about to pay a grand for the side steps, although my wife, at 5'1", would probably like a set. I would like to see something like this available for US Muranos.
Check out the dee zee running boards. I really think these boards have to be them. I wanna get a set for my 09 MO.
