Still Leaking...

2017.5 Platinum here. Water flows freely down the sunroof drains. Can't figure out why there's still water on the driver's side. Car has been sitting in the driveway for a week. Pulled the A pillar and there was a bit of moisture inside on the plastic. Hose connection at the sunroof was completely dry. Poured water down it and it poured right out of the firewall. No leaks that I could find. Pulled back the carpet and backing on the floor and it's wet. It's wet behind the big foam thing behind the carpet. Can't get to the firewall connection for the hose so I'm not sure how to rule that out. Anyone ever have this problem when the lines are clear? It shouldn't be the AC as it's been sitting. The sunroof hasn't been opened in over a year. The car only has 36k miles on it. Driving me crazy...

I believe ours is similar. Certainly curved. After my adjustment (I used the bolt adjustment, not the motor) the front was still a hair low, but only in the middle. The sides were basically flush. The bolt adjustments don't offer much movement. I'm at the top on both sides. But the middle is still a little off. Fortunately I had to dump loads of water on it to get it to drip down the A pillar so I'm going to call it acceptable. Just finished putting it back together and it seems to operate ok. Now I'll wait for rain and we'll see how it performs.

Thanks for the pics. Yours does look smoother than mine. Also, mine will not open at all until the shade is completely back.

In comparison, here's mine after the adjustment:
This is each side and the center. I believe the center is at the bottom. You can see it's still off a bit but the sides look pretty good. It's like the front curve doesn't match the back like yours.

Yes, the middle seals seem like they might be almost the same on both cars. It's amazing what lighting can do to make something look totally different in various pictures. I would say your front glass mating seal seems to angle downward too much and not make good (or any) contact with the rear glass seal. But it could just be the lighting.

Did you check the glass carefully for shoe prints? I think someone may have been doing something up there that caused the tracking mechanism, brackets or rails to deform under the weight, which is preventing a better seal alignment and creating gaps for water to leak in.

Looks like you've made good progress, and hopefully you can forget about it for awhile and enjoy the rest of the Summer.

Although it's been awhile since I last used the sunroof, I'm fairly certain I never retracted the shade more than halfway after reading so many horror stories about it collapsing. I'll try it out tomorrow to see if the car needs to be running or a person needs to be seated in the front.

EDIT: I didn't bother to open the sunroof, but even seated with the engine running both buttons made the sunshade move, so you're probably correct that it has to be fully retracted before the glass will slide back. I guess one button must be just for the sunshade function, and the other is for the sunroof where it forces the sunshade to retract before allowing the glass to move.

I've seen so many videos of delivery people freaking out when a tiny dog comes charging at them and they end up jumping onto a homeowner's vehicle for protection. Maybe one of them saw a squirrel the last time they delivered you a package. :D

I might decide to leave well enough alone.

Hopefully no hurricanes in your immediate future.

Yeah, when I push the tilt button the shade goes back before the tilt so I guess that's how it works. I've got a doorbell cam and the car is parked right in front of it so it would probably let me know. Nothing showing in the 30 day history. No footprints up there and I waxed the whole thing myself in May. Paint doesn't stand a chance here unless you wax and buff it at least once a year.
