I think you can go to a tire shop and have them re- calibrate the sensors.

Does the light flash for about 60 seconds when you first start the vehicle, then remain solid and occur every time you start it? That is the symptom that you will see when one or more sensors cannot be read or there is a problem with the TPMS system. I think if it just comes on solid and doesn't blink for the first 60 seconds you may need to do a TPMS reset or visit a tire shop to have them do it. Discount Tire did ours several times for free before we got the sensors replaced.

 

My light flashes for about a minute then stays lit. Tire shop checked all the sensors which read good. He reset the light, drove for a few miles and everything looked good. Two days later its on again. Tire pressure is good. I check the pressure every week and rarely add air. Screw it, I have a Maxima with the same issue. TPMS systems are like finding gold to car dealers.

 

The problem is I have EZ sensors with my winter tires. I need to go to the guy who sold me those EZ to read them.

Could be sensor issue or a battery issue or Nissan TPMS. Resetting the TPMS and sensors is a bad idea because they will become out of sync with my factory rims.

 

It might be the non-OEM TPMS giving you the trouble. I purchased a used set of Nissan OEM sensors for my winter tires/rims off eBay and my dealer charges me $20 to re-set them when I do the seasonal tire/wheel switchover. This is my sixth year doing this. The only time my TPMS light goes on is when they forget to re-set them. I'm usually a block or two from the dealer when the light goes on, so I just head back and have them finish the job. Take care!

I just had to replace the front left sensor. The part was $265 before labor

 

$265.00 for one sensor? Outrageous

 

I suggest you add pressure to around 4-5 PSI above the door sticker pressures and see if the light goes out. Cold weather sneaks up on your tire pressures.

 

Had to do the dealer reset today also, over inflate did not work this time. Winter temps seem to be bad trigger.
Self reset should be easy but possible this is bonus to dealers to get us on the lot again.

 

My 3 years old EZsensor stopped working. I cloned codes from factory ones, but did one mistake: I didn't write down sensor codes on each wheel (winter and summer set). If I did - all I d have to do is to get a new matching sensor coded ($65) and install it in tire shop ($25)

Now I have to take all 8 wheels to the tire shop to get readings and ID a missing one...

That would work for older cars that don't have tpms built in if you wanted to monitor the pressure.

From everything I have read, if your car came with TPMS (2005 models and newer) it has to be functioning to be legal and pass inspection.
