I saw this on the FA dark side & thought it would be interesting here.....

Mine was just car number 5 in my stable.

I need to free up my Accord for my 16 Year Old.

My Cutlass is off limits! I got too crazy building it up when I was a young pup & I know what I did with a 350/350!:D

And I would never punish my boys by making them drive the Caravan.

A BEAUTIFUL Bright Red BMW Z3 Convertible. As a 2 seater, it wasn't helping move the family around. Great commuter car though, I put 40K Miles on her in a year with Very little maintenance on the 140hp 1.9. I definately got my monies worth out of her especially since I sold it for 1K$ more than I paid for it. I'm hoping the Mo treats us as well.

Ha, a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis. The trunk on it could hold at least 4 bodies... err I mean lots of groceries. I do like the Muranos awd in the Wisconsin winters though. Although I felt as though I could always drive rwd better than fwd in the snow. I guess thats because thats all I really drove in the snow. But the awd just rips through the snow.

Oh yeah, the 94 only had 125k on it. Suspension components didnt last too long on it. Had to get rid of it (well, not really "had to") cause the wife didnt think it would be safe for the future kids.

You've got that right...21YO driver with a license for 6 months who went flying through a red light, swerved into my wife's lane, fishtailed a couple of times and then hit her car head-on. Thankfully she only ended up with a black eye, some bruising and lots of soreness.

A loaded 2005 Quest SL. The Murano is a step up but the space is missed.

Our new 2011 MO SV 'replaces' (actually addition to) a 2000 Maxima.
Our Maxima has given 11 years of trouble free service, still delivers 21/28 mpg.
We have always been fans of the Maxima styling. We are not getting any younger,
so we we are now 'ol geezers' driving a sexy car.

Thanks! Agreed, he should have the black eye, or at least a ticket, which the Philly cops didn't even bother with either.

That incident, along w/Philly drivers, confirmed to me that I don't want her in anything smaller than a mid-sized SUV. The new MO really is a great car so far. She loves it. It has definitely helped ease the pain and inconvenience of the accident :)

2004 BMW 330i with factory 18" wheels and a manual transmission. Had a 100k miles when I traded it in as was getting close to needing a clutch. Fun car but it was difficult to take advantage of the performance in daily driving. Not cheap to maintain but a lot more reliable than I expected.

I sold my 02 Porsche 996 twin turbo along with an 87 original 930S turbo convertible...a beast of a car, but I'm getting older and it was just getting too hard to get in and out of the cars, plus both were stick shifts and continual shifting in heavy traffic played havoc with my knees. Rear tires were $450 each and only lasted 10K miles, and upkeep (especially parts) was expensive. Annual insurance premiums were very expensive...and you couldn't really go anywhere and enjoy yourself because you were always looking out the window to make sure no one dinged the doors or were messing with your car. They draw too much attention. I enjoy the anonymity of a crossover....but am still anal about door dings.

I am very satisfied with the decision to move into the Murano and although I do miss the G-force take offs and mountain driving and track performance, the accessories, additional room, and comfortable interior make up for the things I enjoyed with a sports car.

You sold a WHAT and a WHO?....for a Murano? Holy cow! And I thought trading in our 05 Quest for a Murano was gonna be a hard change! lol.

BTW, the Murano will kill both of those off the line! The G-force combined with the AWD system will embarass those!.....lol..ok ok....I couldn't keep a straight face either! Was just trying to make you feel better!

Our 2007 SL (with only 21K miles) replaced a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC (with only 100K miles) that was totaled by an idiot driving a VW Passat Wagon. I wanted another '96 LSC, but my wife convinced me to buy her a MO and she gave me her 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII - with 142K miles on it. So she got a nearly new Mo and I got another Mark VIII! She lets me drive it to chuech on Sundays! I kept the LSC for parts, 'cause lots of the electronics are '96 year specific and ahrd to find.

I gave my daughter the 06 Mazda3 S when I bought the 11 LE AWD. We are both very happy and satisfied! :D

Mine replaced a 2007 Saturn Vue. The Saturn was a great vehicle but as a FWD it was iffy driving around the Poconos in the winter and it was a orphan with 124K miles on it. When the last repair estimate came back at over $1000, that was the last straw. I had a pang of regret when I traded her in but after a day or so driving around with my new Murano, I barely remember whatsername.
