Ski = The nickname I've had ever since Basic Training....you try saying Janczewski (pronounced Jan-chess-key) every time. lol Everyone calls me "Ski".

Zero = The number of medals I usually get while playing Halo or Halo 2 online with my buddies. They always made fun of me for not ever getting any, so my friend Scott gave me the entire nickname. "Ski Zero"

I thought its sounded interesting and its car related......but my friend says it reminds him of sex-jelly...astroglide?

The Powerglide is a two speed automatic transmission designed by General Motors. It was available primarily on Chevrolet automobiles from 1950 through the early 1970s, although a few Pontiac models in the 1950s also used this automatic transmission.

When introduced on upper-level Chevrolet models in 1950, the Powerglide represented the first automatic transmission offered in a low-priced automobile; in contrast, Ford didn't offer their automatic transmission until 1951, while Plymouth car buyers had to wait until 1954. The transmission was simple and very durable, which made for many satisfied customers. By the mid-1950s, more than half of all new Chevrolets were sold with Powerglide. In 1962, GM started building Powerglides in aluminum and discontinued the cast Iron Glides a few years later.

From 1957 to 1961, Chevrolet also produced the Turboglide automatic transmission, a two-speed automatic whose design was similar to that of updated versions of Buick's Dynaflow. The Turboglide, only offered with larger V8 engines, was more expensive than the Powerglide and, as it turned out, also less durable and far more complex in design - and troublesome.

Powerglide continued to serve as Chevrolet's main automatic transmission through the 1960s, when a new three-speed automatic transmission called Turbo-hydramatic (1965 introduction) began to be phased in (the Turbo-Hydramatics were introduced in Buicks and Cadillacs a year before).

Usually, Powerglides were coupled behind small-block Chevrolet V8s and their third-generation inline sixes. By the late 1960s, demand for two-speed automatic transmissions was dwindling as buyers were demanding three-speed units (Ford, Chrysler and American Motors had already switched entirely to three-speed automatics by this time). In 1969, the three-speed Turbo Hydramatic 350 was introduced as a light-duty companion to the Turbo Hydramatic 400, and made available on virtually all Chevrolet cars and trucks with six-cylinder or small and medium sized V8 engines, as well as intermediate sized cars of other GM divisions. The Powerglide lingered on as a low-cost automatic transmission option primarily for six-cylinder Chevrolet Novas and four-cylinder Chevrolet Vegas until it was phased out after the 1973 model year.

Although it is a very old design Powerglide still has a strong following in drag racing due to its strength and simplicity. Powerglides are also popular in mud racing and monster truck racing.

When I first came on-line, many moons ago, I decided to use my CB handle "City Slicker" (telling my age)but discovered that it was already in use so it evolved into "Cityfella"

In my younger days, I guess you can say I lived a "fast" life.... I lived for money, success, pride, whatever I could do to be better than the guy before me or the next, that was me. I lived for all of that. but at the end of the day when the lights went out I felt alone, lonely, and with no real security. No matter how many friends I had I questioned how long they would be there. With that in mind, It was hard to swallow that this world is all a coincidence(Darwin theory)... I mean this is just too perfect! That caused me to desire to know who this "Creator" is. I said one single prayer "God, if you are out there I want to know you. If you made this world and universe, you know who I am, and you know how to help me live a healthy and better life. I ask you to guide me and make me who you designed me to be." Sure enough I met a woman who was willing to spend the rest of her life with me. Looking for I nice place to have a wedding ceremony we found somthing else....or should I say Someone else. We heard that everyone is a sinner from birth no matter how nice of a person you are. So we put that to the test and compared ourselves to the 10 commandments. Have you ever lied? yep. Have you ever stolen? yep. Have you ever used God's name in vain (use God's name in replace of a four letter word to express frustration) yep. I needed to go no longer, the verdict is in.. Guilty.
and the bible says the only way to pay for any sin is death and eternal fire. I guess its fair, if a judge sentences a criminal to do time, its fair. I dont know about you, but that doesnt sound like fun to me. and with that bad news came the good news. There was Someone who came about 2000 years ago to pay for our iniquities (sins). The Man was none other than God Himself in the flesh, who was tortured and eventually died on the cross. So that who ever would realize this spiritual poverty we posses would come to Him and ask Him to be merciful to them, in this case me. And so my faith and trust is in Him. There is nothing I can do or earn, it is solely a gift of His grace and mercy to those who would truly believe. You see, you can "know" you have a gift under the "Christmas tree" but until you pick it up and recieve it as yours you will never know what it exactly is. To make sure that you wont doubt this fact, God did something that has never been done again. He rose from the dead so that you may be assured in this faith. Anyone can recieve this gift today. Jesus says "I stand at the door of your heart and knock, if anyone hears me and opens the door for me I will come in and give them everlasting life" Jesus changed my life and my wife's. There is no more searching for peace, because that peace has been given. We now have a relationship and been reconciled with God through Jesus. If it were only about "church" I guess my name would be Sundays4Jesus... but it's not. It's not about what you do. It's more about who you are. Though I am still not perfect and wont ever be (until I put away this flesh) I know I have been forgiven. so now we live4Jesus!:2: http://gty.org/files/audio_qna/mp3/assurance.mp3
