Ok I,m crying Uncle. I've gone thru the owners manual twice , as has my partner. Neither of us could find the snowflake symbol in the manual.
It has been showing up at the top of the dash screen right beside the temp the last few days. It's been under 5c. I'm assuming it's telling me it's cold out.
But does anyone know what it is and what triggers it?

On my 2009 LE, it says "ICY" next to the temperature when the outside temperature goes below 37 degrees F. The "snowflake" must be the universal ICY warning symbol on the new cars. In my owners manual, the description was located under "temperature" in the rear index. It is considered a "warning" and can be turned off if it bothers you. Hope this helps and take care!

.......lol, I'm guessing this thread and all these responses are jokes right? Haha :)

Just in case it's not, all the snowflake symbol is telling you is that it's cold outside and that there is the potential for the roads to be slippery and icy so drive carefully. I believe the symbol turns on around 38 degrees F - or at some point near there. And if the snowflake symbol is distracting, I believe you can turn it off under settings.

(And if this is not a joke - forgive me. It's a perfectly good question; I just find it funny that so many of the responses on here don't know for certain what it is lol )

Could you post a picture?

i bet this is it - http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/121-3rd-gen-2015/193009-snowflake-icon.html#post556577

It's temp activated, just telling you that it's cold enough you might find ice. Don't worry about it - not worthy of further research.

And since you're in the know for certain it would of been nice if you had posted where it located in the manual. Kinda funny because some people will answer a question on just the fact that they think they know.

I pretty much use the warning in late fall as a reminder to switch over to the winter tires!

I find it amazing that Nissan has been producing vehicles for years and years and the more I see of their product the more they look like amateurs. It just one bad :jester:joke after another.

I agree. I can't really figure out what their deal is. Nissan sells five times the vehicles of Mazda, yet Mazda is so much more consistent. There's something in the background and I can't figure it out.

I noticed the same last night, the outside temp was 37 F

That is the temp it starts warning at (page 2-25, 2015 owners manual):
Low Outside Temperature
This warning appears if the outside temperature is below 37°F (3°C). The temperature can be changed to display in Celsius or Fahrenheit. For additional information, refer to “Temperature” in this section.
It can be turned on/off via the Drivers Assistance screen (page 2-16, 2015 owners manual) of the Vehicle Information Display.

Thanks for the info.

Just out of curiosity, why would it warn you if the outside temp is below 37? Is it telling you to warm up the car before driving off?

Any time the temp gets close to freezing, roads can ice up on bridge overpasses or other places exposed to wind and not earth-heated.

Or it may be reminding you to do your Christmas shopping. Yeah, that's it.....
