Climate Control Settings

Halwg: Turns out you are correct - sort of! On the 2nd gen, referring to the dot matrix display in the speedo, if you change those readings between metric and US, this does not change the climate control display.

To change this, as I just found out, drill down far enough in the settings menu of the radio/climate control system, the display can be changed between C and F.

By comparison on our other ride, a 2013 Altima 2.5 SL, the climate control cannot be changed from "C"! Through another forum, a Nissan Master-Tech who also spot checks quality control on production models from one of the plants, determined the display will show "C" only - no way to change it.

This is not the one I am talking about.
Temperature
The temperature that displays in the vehicle information
display can be changed from:
● °F (Fahrenheit)
● °C (Celsius)
Use the OK button to toggle choices.
It's on the climate control it's self that I would like to change.

I am new to this Forum and I have the same issue with my 2016 Platinum Murano (Canadian)...the climate control setting reads in “C”. How do you change them to read in “F”? The Dealer said the cover (controller) would need to be change at a cost of about $760 just to get it to change from "C" to "F". This doesn't sound right...any ideas?

If that's the case, you should be able to pick one up from a auto salvage yard fairly cheap, considering that it should be the same for all generation models. A part's number comparison will tell.

My comment, in Nov 2015, referred to my 2nd gen Murano, which we no longer have. Not possible to change in the 3rd gen model.

I observe this disciuss because I have another problem. I looking for posibility to buy this HVAC item with Celsius scale display by internet shop witaj delivery to Europe UE. Is anybady who has an adress of Canadian shop?

I am new to this post,. I have a 2019 Murano SL. Climate control set on Celcius , would like to switch
to Farenheit. Now think.. If you look up parts for murano using VIN #. 2017-2020 climate control S,SV,SL
shows PN 27500-9UC1C. Doesn't say US or Canadian, 2017-2020 uses same PN. I have been through
both user settings dash and radio screen, does nothing for climate control read out. Ask yourself, my VIn # says this is the correct PN, changing probably won't help. It is my thought, the vehicle needs dealer computer connection to upgrade or change settings on climate control. Anyway thanks for reading,
looking for the answer, Any ideas, I will post if I find what to do. Thanks to all.

If the climate control shows Celcius, then is it safe to assume you are not the original owner and the vehicle was first sold in Canada. Nothing in the vehicle settings will change this. (Are the predominate markings on the speedo in Km?) Some years ago I wanted to change the readout from C to F in an Altima, but after much investigation found it could not be done, even at the dealer level. I was advised the units are preprogramed for the country of original sale.

Only possibility I can think of is to obtain a climate control unit from a salvage yard near you and swap out the units.

Ok, this what I am thinking, only 1 part number fits for replacement, based on Vin number and part
number , so how does swapping for the same part at a salvage yard help? It is still the only part that
will work for your car. I don't see how that would change anything other than the part. I think the
climate control would still read out the same. I am going to try dealer service. Will post later.

It seems silly, but it seems Nissan didn't provide the simplest of things to implement, to allow the ability to toggle between Celsius/Fahrenheit for the head unit display... It's ridiculously stupid to hard-code something like this into the head unit depending the on the country it's delivered to... There is probably a story behind it though, it would be interesting to know "why..."

defeat. Murano's are sold all over the world not just US and Canada. When you go Vin and part #,
Nissan dealer said PN 27500-9UC1C is the US part number, 2017-2020 years. There has to be a way to change this, somewhere in the main computer possibly.

Is there a way to log onto a Canadian Nissan dealer's web site and look up the part without using your Vin# and see if the part number is the same as going to a US Nissan dealer's web site and going the same thing?

Might help point you in the right direction. Totally stupid that you can't do a simple thing like change from C to F.
