My MO was shutting off on mii and no matter how far i press the accelerator i would only coast. Took to nissan dealer and was told diode in alternator was failing. After $800 problem was fixed. With the houston weather there was no need to run a/c at that time, but about a week later i turned on the ac to find that it was blowing warm. I shut it off and rolled windows down. About 2 days later i turned on heater and it worked fine so i switched to ac and still warm air on 65 degrees. I check fluids and noticed there was no coolant so i added and let it run. Still no change. So about 3 weeks later i had windows down and turned on ac to c if any changes and i started getting not cold but cool air about 70 degrees when i had it on 60. The very next day tried to run ac and was back blowing warm air. Any help please!!!

It is best to take it to a shop to verify that after the alternator replacement, that they reinstalled and tightened the serpentine belts correctly. I am not sure how you could low on coolant - that sounds more like lack of inspection and maintenance and unrelated to the alternator repair.
You may have a leak in the system, and it also sounds like your compressor is not engaging. (You can verify whether the compressor is engaging by looking at it and watching for the clutch to engage.)
Most likely if the refrigerant (not coolant) in the system is too low, the compressor will not engage - that's a safety factor to prevent damage to the compressor.
It's time for a leak test and system check by a real AC shop. My bet is that you have a substantial leak, and fixing it will allow the system to run.

So, the AC runs but no cold air coming out? I would first check for disconnected sensor, etc. related to the AC system which they might have missed reconnecting after alternator replacement. There is a refrigerant pressure sensor on the left end of the radiator - just above the compressor. Get yourself a copy of the FSM so you can check it yourself before taking it to the shop. Good luck. It is also possible that they could have messed up the AC lines and caused a leak. You need to look under the hood and follow the lines.
That's what I was thinking that something was disconnected in some way. Is there a fuse or relay I can check as well. Because when you hit the AC button, the idle doesn't change or you don't feel that little surge as if it comes on.
Like I said, get a copy of the FSM. If your dash controls does not work then you check the fuses. But if it is working where you can turn on and off the AC blower etc. but the only problem is that there is no cold air, then it has something to do with the refrigerant or electrical connections by the compressor. Since they worked on the alternator, you need to look in that area.
Gotcha and thanks again... yeah I obtained a copy of the FSM and the dash controls work fine and the blower comes on the way it should. It's just blowing the hot air... So I will try to look at the connectors for the compressor etc..
