Over the past several months ive noticed a hesitancy when hitting the gas pedal. It seemed to come and go and wasnt really affecting my driving. In retrospect I should have seen the warning and taken care of it. Well now its too late. On the free way to the airport 2 hrs away my car started having exteme lag in responding when hitting the pedal. The car would jerk a little but then did fine at higher speeds on the freeway. An hour into the journey we were met with some heavy traffic and were forced to stop. Now my gas pedal would do nothing. It took 15 mins to get back up to speed. Luckily my car ran fine oncw up to speed and I eventually figured out I could accelerate/decelerate using the cruise control much faster. I made it to the airport amazingly on time to catch my flight. Now I'm dreading dealing with my car in long term parking. I'm praying someone may have a fix!!! Thank you and happy new year!

You mentioned the ongoing problem became much worse on the way to the airport. So when you return, if the cars cranks strongly and starts, then you're right, it's not the battery or alternator.

The gas pedal is electronic, not connected to a cable. It may be the gas pedal.

Before you do ANYTHING ELSE get a code reader on the car and read the fault codes. This comes FIRST. If you need to buy a code reader, do so. Everybody who does anything to their car needs one, just like they need a battery charger. (And agreed, if it starts OK, there is no no problem with the battery or alternator.)

You're racking up parking charges as the car sits. If you can't get it done quickly by reading the codes, have the Murano flatbedded to a good indy shop and have them tackle it.

I will get back from my trip at midnight tonight. Am going back with a obd2 code reader accelerator pedal position sensor and a 10 mm socket wrench. I'm guessing it is the app based on my reading online. Agree with the last poster!! Thanks for all the replies. I'll update you when I figure it out. Looks like it coule be an easy 15 min fix or I could end up with a hotel room followed by a day ot towing on Sunday.
