I have 2 key fobs for a 2009 Murano LE. I'm wondering if they can be reprogrammed for use on another Murano or other Nissan vehicle?

If the FCC number on the back of the remote (A) matches the FCC number on the fob for another vehicle (B), then the remote from A can be re-programmed to work with vehicle B.

There's a considerable trade on these on Ebay...for many different makes and models of vehicles. I have a second remote ordered for my Murano - it's coming with instructions on how to program it. I'll post the instructions when it gets here. You don't have to have a dealer program a remote if you have the instructions.

I did a quick search for this, and found these directions at Nissanhelp.com...however, it refers to entering an ID code and a maximum of four codes. That part of the process would require more research.

Glad to help. Just run a Google search on "how to reprogram a Murano remote" and start checking links. You'll find the complete info in no time.

EDIT: I've been searching and between this forum and others, I've found about four variations of how to program the basic remotes - none of which have worked for me. I'm going to keep trying. If/when I find a combination that works in my 07 Murano, I'll post it.

Did you ever come up with instructions that worked on programming the key fob? I took my key fob (purchased on ebay) to a very good locksmith with some sort of electronic gizmo that should be able to program the key fobs. He was unable to make it work and said I would need to go to a dealer. The dealer wants about $100 to program it. Thanks!
